I think Angus gets some stuff wrong, Isabella. But if you’re not interested in race pace then making a profit is extremely unlikely. Personally I no longer have Racing TV, sometimes look at the Sunday questions on YouTube, but the thing I look at most is The Verdict. I know in the past when writing about horses who’ve been inconvenienced or flattered by the pace, other punters think it’s opinion. Whereas statistics tend to prove it. So can understand bringing in more stats. The way he talks about it, I can see it is boring for some. But just because you find it boring does not mean others do.
That all said, I too wish they’d shut up! Because the fewer punters know about the importance of pace the more of an edge for me.
Value Is EverythingAugust 21, 2024 at 15:22 #1705204A very competitive renewal and I went for Alflaila at 16s EW and Calandagan at 7s WIN only. Though Ambiente Friendly could finally land his first G1 blow. Only problem is that I don’t trust Havlin at all.
August 21, 2024 at 15:28 #1705205Nobody likes the four I think are value!

Maljoom now out to 40.
Zarakem now 34.
Alflaila now 17.5
and Calandagan now 9.
Value Is EverythingAugust 21, 2024 at 15:32 #1705206Right now Bluestocking (7/1) and Ambiente Friendly (16/1) are pretty generous with the PMU. But, how long will that last?

Durezza 40s e/w – a small wager
August 21, 2024 at 15:36 #1705208I like to think that Ghostwriter will run a big race.

August 21, 2024 at 15:40 #1705210Ambiente Friendly too free. Winner did well making all. wd winners.
August 21, 2024 at 15:40 #1705211I think it’s about time we put Ryan Moore into legendary status.
August 21, 2024 at 15:41 #1705212What a nice performance and a convincing win! Maybe Hans Andersen was just a decoy for pacemaking purposes. Once in front Ryan did a great job dictating the pace and no one really got involved.
August 21, 2024 at 15:41 #1705213Track record broken by a second.
August 21, 2024 at 15:42 #1705214“I think it’s about time we put Ryan Moore into legendary status.”
His ammunition is pretty legendary ;o)
August 21, 2024 at 15:43 #1705215That was embarrassing on the part of the other jockeys to allow Moore to dictate the race in that way, have to mark up the French horse for that run as coming from further back and making up ground on a quickening horse was less than ideal.
August 21, 2024 at 15:43 #17052162/1 was avail with the 365 super boost.
AOB and Moore absolutely smashing up the bookies today

WD winners
August 21, 2024 at 15:44 #1705217Ambiente Friendly needs a new jockey. ASAP….
August 21, 2024 at 15:46 #1705219LD73 i think COT would’ve beat him any which way. The Irish Champion for both maybe.
August 21, 2024 at 15:46 #1705220That was pretty special; broke the course record (albeit wind-assisted) and hit the line hard.
