Not for for the first time I’m with Graham on Slowmotion. Trainer puts the last disappointment down to bad ground and if it stays soft I’ll have a small bet. It’s a very tricky race. Mullins is far and away in the best form of the trainers and who knows what improvement he can get out of Total Recall on this yard debut? Formally, he’s only had the horse since Sep 25 and if that’s the case, I wonder how much polish even Mullins can put on a horse he doesn’t know. Interesting too that he steps the gelding up to 3m.
I see that 3 out of Rogue Angel’s chase wins have been claimer-ridden and Chris Meehan claims 7 off him although, from what I can find, the boy has not yet ridden a winner over fences.
Two out of JP’s contingent are shorter than Slowmotion (Auvergnat is half his price) yet Geraghty appears to have chosen Slowmotion (always tempting wth JP to suspect a plot is afoot).
I’ll finish with a wee piece of trivia: Net D’Ecosse is the only one in the race whose sire has a 100% record (2/2) with runners at this trip
October 7, 2017 at 21:10 #1320625Just added Dromnea as I noticed his last 3 RPRs are his best ever.
October 8, 2017 at 00:59 #1320637I hope you’re right Joe
October 8, 2017 at 12:28 #1320676Added Phil’s Magic 16s E/W
Good luck today everyone and enjoy the racingOctober 8, 2017 at 12:35 #1320677This has been tricky to get my head around. Gone for ADO as my main Win Bet – he should have too much class for these. I think Auvergnat could improve so small Win Bet and for Stella Notion EW @ 25’s.
Alpha Des Obeaux @ 7/1
Auvergnat @ 7/1
Stella Notion @ 25/1October 8, 2017 at 12:41 #1320678I chucked a little bit on Arkwrisht. I’m just trying to keep it simple. On known recent form he’s for me the most likely winner and I’m loathed to start trying to find things which aren’t there.
Best of luck all. It’s a nice day of action across the Irish Sea.
October 8, 2017 at 13:25 #1320687Rock on Fruity for me with that really good conditional – beat Net D’Ecosse a few runs ago and being supported in the market.
October 8, 2017 at 13:47 #1320688Really good stuff again Bobby!!
maybe one day I will get fed up of praising you for these write ups but I doubt it!!I have had three in this
ROCK ON FRUITY
NET D’ECOSSE
PHILS MAGICNot that confident but if I had to pick one it would be Fruity
Good Luck Everyone
October 8, 2017 at 14:41 #1320696lol, Cheers Raymo.
Good luck with yours, and good luck everyone else too.
October 8, 2017 at 15:06 #1320703Good luck to everyone in this, but especially Raymo61 as i am with you with my pair of Phils Magic and Rock On Fruity
I have taken Rock On Fruity wins at 9-1 and Phils Magic at 16-1 with the 5 place concession
October 8, 2017 at 16:33 #1320716That won like an absolute blot. Jumped the last two as though he’d just joined in.
October 8, 2017 at 16:46 #1320717Don’t know whether or not I’m happy to get beat by one like that Joe, but yeah, what an absolute plot job.
Well done those who got some place money there.
October 8, 2017 at 16:50 #1320718Thought the fav would run like a donkey and instead blasted all of them.
I was on the three that fell (Auvergnac, Arkhrwist and Rock on Fruity), so no luck for me
October 8, 2017 at 17:00 #1320720Well looked like it had joined in with two to jump!! Hosed in!!
Am happy I bet five places that got me two placed but hey the winner was different gear!!!October 8, 2017 at 17:10 #1320722It looks so easy after the event, it was never in question. Bad luck there Bobby (and others)
for coming up against one miles ahead of the handicapper. Something is wrong with Slowmotion,
I shouldn’t have gone against my initial feelings after her last race that something was amiss.
She can’t be bet until they find out what is wrong, it was too bad for it simply being the ground
went too soft, maybe Joe can spot what ails her.Considering the conditions were against Shanpallas, he did well in the circumstances, pity the
ground hadn’t been a bit better. Not all gloom and doom for me, TULSA JACK ran a decent race,
and covered me well enough but he was never going to get to the front two. It will be interesting
to see where Willie goes with Total Recall after this.October 8, 2017 at 18:10 #1320730I don’t think any of us who had a faller there can complain, as nothing would have beaten that horse today, he was very impressive
There seems to be loads of you with places too, well done it was a rough race
October 8, 2017 at 23:53 #1320782So much for my assessment of Total Recall. As Father Dougal once said, “I stand corrected”.
Arkwrisht was a bit unlucky..just a big long striding horse who met a fence on a half stride. If he can learn to fiddle those somehow he will be OK. He finished his race very nicely loose! I’ll bet him again. Was happy to see Auvergnat and the others get up and gallop on soundly too. - AuthorPosts
