Reading some very interesting comments by Irish Racing Fans on a well Known blog and its interesting how some have complete contempt for quite a few of the Horse Racing Biggest Names.

"Is this utter contempt and disregard for the racing public and indeed the betting public. AOB has 6 horses in the 2000 guineas toad – 6 nearly half of the entire filed and any one of them can win regardless of which one is favourite on previous form. This is ridicuolous and surely Coolmore have gone betond saturation point evem. They should be taxed to the hilt immediatley on their income and give the rest at least a sporting chance.
McManus is doing the same in the NH sphere , all on untaxed income"

"Also stuffed all of the six Coolmore horses – a great day for Racing and for Richard and his parents , The owners sadi this horse was bought cheaply so another feather in the cap"

"once had great time for Aiden O’Brien and Coolmore, use to think Aiden was a modest shy guy not full of his own self importance and the Coolmore/Ballydoyle success on the racecourse was really putting Ireland on the world stage.
How wrong I was, these guys are nothing but a bunch of control freaks who think Irish racing is run for their benefit and nobody else, the authorities are so far up their arses they can do what they bloody well like.
As for Aiden?, I’m starting to think this simple horse trainer who happens to have the best of everything is starting to believe his own media driven myth, walking up the racecourse with entourage and family in tow dark suits dark glasses for heavens sake even the kids are wearing the customary shades and dark suits, Irelands version of the F.B.I, not sure if Aiden is into cross dressing though?."

"Well said Patrick couldnt agree more about AOB Magnier and that talentless fraud Bono. I mean bleating about the poor in Africa while upping stick to Holland to avoid paying tax here . The hypocrisy of it. Only in Ireland would this happen."

"I have just watched a “horserace” at the Curragh – Tony O Reilly racing his two horses against John Magniers three horses . What a set up and they call it a Group 1 . Two billionaires who dont pay any tax here, non resident and there they are up in their boxes on the Curragh right now racing their horses against each other while the rest of us without a bob allow our Governemt to borrow money to lend to Greece . Its like a Mel Brooks film"

"If Sizing Europe is the be bought by Tax Avoider McManus as suggested by one of the above bloggers then he should run in the Presidents colours not MCManus colours as the money McManus uses to buy him rightly belongs to the Irish people as unpaid tax. If he paid his share the rest of us would have less to pay."

"I doubt if Potts would sell him to the Tax Avoider anyway as I am told Potts has no repsect for people who live abroad to avoid tax. Potts really earned his money the hard way and buys his horses only AFTER he pays some tax, He doesnt spend actual tax money on horses"

"Lads who does McManus think he is buying up stocks of Horses to win the small Hunter Chases. The man is a disgrace and should be ashamed of himself. Self Interest Only. Tax Avoider too boot aswell."

Just a few of the numerous Posts…on Brian O Conner’s Blog. Can’t say i disagree much tbh

What a bunch of bleeding gripers.Has he any idea the amount of money that comes into Ireland boarding the mares that attend the coolmore stallions?Or the salaries paid out to staff at Ballydoyle and Coolmore? As for JP. he made his money overseas not in Ireland. So he should pay taxes in Ireland? Not to mention all the horses he has boarded in Ireland. Why should Bono be bailing out the gov. They did nothing to protest the money other people left in Ireland. He did the smart thing not to trust either the banks or the Gov.

Can you imagine a couple of country boys from Limerick and Cork getting above their status and moving to Tipperary. Is it any wonder the locals are pissed?

I am not a great fan of AOB’s spin, directed at possible stud values etc. But can’t see any problem with having however many he wants in a race. The best horses should run, whoever trains them. They are needed to keep standards as high as possible. Hope St Nich, Jan V, Cape B and Midas T all run in the Derby, so we can see which horse is best. Think some people think AOB knows who is going to win, when the third string is successful punters aren’t too pleased. Sure, AOB should have a better opinion than most on who is the best of his bunch, but he does not KNOW who is best. It is surely up to us to read the form and come to our own opinion, taking responsibility for our bets. There is often good value to be had be backing 2nd, third or fourth strings, so it is an advantage for the punter.

No they don’t! …. this is some nonsense from a BF forumesque chatroom which, like the former, is best kept away from here.

Quite where Irish racing would be without Magnier, McManus et al is anybody’s guess but my view is that it’d be struggling.

Good auld Irish begrudgery, we never lost it.

Although I wish O’Brien would take off the stupid sunglasses when he’s being interviewed. Mick Kinnane seems to have contracted the affliction lately.

I think Irish racing would be finished without the above mentioned.

I have great time for Coolmore but sometimes when i listen to AOB it makes me feel ill with the continous repetitive quotes.

Small Price to pay it has to be said mind you

Yes, AOB is starting to sound silly at this point. For a man that has trained some damn good horse flesh, calling F&G’s win in the Tatt’s Gold Cup over a field of donkeys an "amazing" performance is taking the piss.
I’d say if he ever packs in the horses he has a job waiting for him as Whitehouse press secretary or some such politico spin doctor.

And that was just the spelling.. I never give much creedence to poorly constructed rants.

McManus – what stranglehold? Seems to me he pours a lot of money into NH but doesn’t get that much back.

Coolmore – the main issue I have with them is their hold over the stallion market, which I don’t think is terribly good for bloodstock long term.

If they have X number of horses capable of winning a race, then why not run them? If they can put 3 horses in a five runner race, why not? Better spectacle than a 2 horse match or a walkover.

Although Aidan’s "he’s got so much speed" spiel is getting a bit boring.

We should all know what to expect from APOB at this stage. What did yee expect him to say after the race?

"Ah sure listen Tracy, we found a very weak Group 1 against a load of Group 3 horses. We were worried about him over 10F because he doesn’t really have a great turn of foot. Johnny said the ground was quick enough for him and he wouldn’t have a prayer in the Eclipse or the Irish Champion Stakes against a good 1m2 horse."

That irish-racing.com blog is a lunatic asylum. I’ve stopped reading it because it degenerates into the same sh1te week in, week out: "JP is a tax dodger" etc. There are a several posters with multiple usernames.
