Much of the racing on the Scottish circuit goes under the radar, but have to wave the flag for Jim Goldie trained Jordan Electrics who this evening notched up a 9th course win at Hamilton Park to set a modern day record at the course. In doing so he beat the Hamilton 5 furlong course record to add to his 6 furlong record which he had improved upon on his previous run.
August 3, 2024 at 20:25 #1703917Watched it on RTV. Some accomplishment, that. He seems to be improving at the age of eight, which speaks volumes for Jim Goldie and his team.
August 4, 2024 at 08:33 #1703945Thommo gave Jim a selfie and signed his commentary notes for him …. The Thommo mark of respect , Jordan will be going into listed class now … first time as a 8 year old
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
August 4, 2024 at 17:45 #1703998Presumably Jordan Electrics will now definitely get a run in the Ayr Gold Cup off his new mark. He’s won at Ayr 4 times and placed in the 2023 Bronze Cup, so I would imagine that would be the target.
August 4, 2024 at 22:51 #1704008What does Jim do?
It’s six weeks until the Gold Cup. If Jordan wins another race before then he may be rated too high for Ayr.
Do you give the horse a break and freshen him up for the big one or is it better to cash in while the horse is in red hot form?
Are there any more options at Hamilton or Ayr before the big one?
August 5, 2024 at 04:05 #1704013I don’t think he’s going to Ayr
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
August 5, 2024 at 08:23 #1704017But he might be going to Ascot, as he’s been entered for the 5F contest which is part of the Shergar Cup on Saturday.
August 5, 2024 at 11:41 #1704027I heard on RTV that the Portland is next.
