will back melon if he’s a big price
December 3, 2021 at 13:03 #1570370I must be seeing these odds incorrectly, why is allaho not the evs fav? I mean if you ever wanted free money, laying envoi allen in this is a gift, not-a-chance he wins
4/1 allaho in this lineup? All over that, regardless of last seasons run…
December 3, 2021 at 13:32 #1570375Allaho will almost certainly need the run
Has done all 3 seasons so far
Hopefully he’s having a jog around before a tilt at the king George
December 3, 2021 at 14:36 #1570383I’d agree ff91 he’s generally needing his run first time up, however, it’s possible they’ll go out and make all still as he’s just that good. I wouldn’t bet him though.
Ham you’re very strong against Envoi not sure why. His chase ability still needs properly testing as he’s not really proven himself yet against top opposition. However, we know he’s potentially a superstar when all is well.
Fakir is potentially getting his ideal conditions here if it gets any softer, but i do think he’s just below the top horses in the division so i’d be against him also.
Kemboy out for a prep here for xmas i’d say.
Janidil is a hard one to judge, i’d probably side with him not being upto open G1 level from his novice year. It’s the same with FDP i doubt he’s good enough, and really the others bar my selection.
Asterion Forlonge is a nutcase and arguably has to catch Janidil from Fairyhouse but he was expected to win that and he was very impressive at Punchestown. I’m still of the view that race didn’t take much winning, but he won so easy and recorded a good figure doing so.
For example, his RPR was higher than anything Envoi’s ever achieved. Not a strong strong selection but at 9/1 i feel he’s overs.
On the basis of Allaho’s form he’ll need the run, Fakir isn’t tip-top and Envoi hasn’t quite proven himself yet and they are all much shorter.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 3, 2021 at 14:37 #1570384FF91, on Allaho, Willie keeps talking about possibly going back to 2m at some stage again, so i’d be more of the feeling Envoi might actually go to the King George.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 3, 2021 at 16:04 #1570391Cant see Henry sending minella indo and envoi myself
December 3, 2021 at 16:52 #1570396Not sure why he’s faced Indo and APT off before?
Different owners, it’s a KG
Henry has mentioned 3 miles for him.
Allaho willies mentioned 2 miles nevermind 3

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 3, 2021 at 17:49 #1570406Actually willie did mention the king George for allaho and so did the owners
December 3, 2021 at 18:00 #1570411He also mentioned him as a GC horse though then changed his tune pretty quick.
Has he said it recently? Only time I see it was when he said about looking a king George horse immediately after Ryanair but then changed his mind soon after the race and said actually he looks more a queen mother horse

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 3, 2021 at 20:05 #1570440He mentioned it in his stable tour and the owners mentioned it in their season preview
December 3, 2021 at 21:24 #1570462The difference being that allaho is the stables #1 this year in the race will play a factor im sure in regards to his fitness, but either or this isnt even close if they decide to have him tuned up and at 4/1 its easy to have a lunt
Did henry not come out after the betfair chase and say no decision was close to being made on minella for the KG? Or did i dream that, sounded negative to me anyway
December 4, 2021 at 05:38 #1570500I’m praying Allaho goes KG , I’ve been playing him e.w for months , plus I want to see Allaho and Frodon going hammer and tongs
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 4, 2021 at 09:58 #1570531This is a really strong race, I’m looking forward to it. I’ve went with Asterion Forlonges at 9-1
December 5, 2021 at 00:16 #1570736The first 3 home in the Ryanair- Allaho, Fakir d’Oudaries and Tornado Flyer- all went into that race on 162. Then Allaho did what he did and the handicapper went into orbit. He then ran 2nd to Chacun in the end-of-term silly season and, instead of Allaho’s rating being modified down a bit, Chacun’s got boosted even higher.
I still have my “I ❤ Allaho” badge but I don’t think he will win tomorrow. I think he’s out for a little spin round and anyhow, I think a left handed track suits best, possibly a flattish track at that. Despite what the form book says and Willie going on about 2 miles, I think his best trip is closer to 3. He’s a big long striding beast with a high cruising speed but I suspect lacking a turn of foot, and also a slight tendency to pitch on landing a little and need his head picked off the floor before he carries on after each fence.
I’m more interested in the other two. Fakir is only 6 (!!) and, after the inflated Allaho, the highest rated in the field. I’ll back him to win and also think he will go on and win over 3 miles this season.
My ew play is Tornado Flyer. The trainer comments were “Tornado Flyer’s best run last year was in this race and he goes well fresh” which to me reads “This is his Gold Cup and I have wound him up to the max for it”. He’s 25s with b365.
December 5, 2021 at 10:35 #1570778Not a strong opinion in the race, but a fair opportunity for Envoi Allen I would’ve thought to show he is still top class, with some others probably not at full fitness.
December 5, 2021 at 10:43 #1570779Beating a race fit fakir and beating him well would be a big stepping stone for envoi over fences imo
December 5, 2021 at 11:02 #1570782Agreed, it would be quite easily his best piece of chasing form. Fascinating to see it all….*hasn’t checked the weather but surely there won’t be the same fog as last year lol.
