Isn’t Buick just first jockey to Charlie Appleby as opposed to Godolphin.

As Final Song is trained by Bin Suroor maybe they can put up who they want ??

Its a strange one. You’d have thought Godolphin would have a retained jockey to be honest.

A bit boring but I was studying it closely at the time….

Buick and Doyle were retained by Godolphin after moving away from Gosden and Charlton. Buick assigned to Charlie Appleby and Doyler to SBS.

After some time SBS wasnt happy with the set up and said he didnt want Doyle retained anymore but he would still pick up rides for him. That has rarely happened though since the announcement.

In terms of Godolphin mounts, Doyle tends to be Appleby’s number two (as well as ride Johnny G’s Godolphin horses), whereas SBS uses many jockeys (Cosgrave, Stott, Bentley, Murphy, Shepherd, Crowley etc). However, since he has now ‘patched’ things up with Frankie he tends to be his go-to man now (if not riding for JG that is).

Jac probably has some more info for you though as I know she is a big admirer of the boys in blue.

Doyle No Longer Bin Suroor Number One

    Hope that helps :good:
