I’ve always liked Bags Groove and there might be a belief that he’s an RSA horse but I think he’d be better on the New Course over slightly shorter.
December 23, 2018 at 17:48 #1390103DEFI DU SEUIL 14/1 won well last time that more like him and look very good at that trip so hope stays at this distance for rest of season
December 23, 2018 at 22:31 #1390120I think La Bague Au Roi will go here after winning the Kauto Star
December 29, 2018 at 17:29 #1390746come on then Gigginstown. Get those 2 chase runs into Samcro. One around the 21st Jan the other 20 Feb.
December 29, 2018 at 18:46 #1390753I’m looking forward to seeing Ontheblindside In the Dipper on New Year’s Day. He was one of Henderson’ best Novice hurdlers last year. He’s been delayed in his comeback due to a minor injury but I’m hoping he takes well to fences. A bold move by Henderson in starting with a graded Chase probably means he’s been training well and has the trainer’s confidence. He’s up against Defi Du Seuil which will be a good yardstick.
I backed Defi Du Seuil for the Arkle at 33-1 and I have Ontheblindside at 16-1 to ‘win any race’. I’m hoping we’d see a solid performance by Ontheblindside and a performances by Defi De Seuil which makes the trainer believe the Arkle is the right way to go.
December 29, 2018 at 18:50 #1390754Mike – I know you’re comments were somewhat ‘tongue in cheek’ but I have to agree with you. What else does Samcro NOT have to do to convince all concerned that he’s not cut out for 2m Championship Hurdling.
This or the RSA would have been a much more suitable target.
December 31, 2018 at 11:07 #1390895On The Blind Side needs backing for this prior to the Dipper. 20s available but will be single figure odds if he wins this…maybe 8s ?
CNC – I think I’m right in saying that Hendo doesn’t often start his novice chasers in Graded races at Cheltenham. They often have a spin somewhere else prior to a Graded race at one of the top tracks – even Sprinter and Altior has preps in minor races.
December 31, 2018 at 13:37 #1390905La Bague Au Roi would be my confident selection for this race if it were run during the winter months. La Bague Au Roi is unbeaten on all 12 runs during the months Oct,Nov,Dec,Jan. Outside of this period she invariably fails to produce her best and on every run bar one has finished well out of the frame in 6th or 7th place. Odds of 16/1 for next years King George look more tempting than 10/1 here. If trends are anything to go by this race will fall to the Irish who have won 7 of the 8 runnings. Mullins has won 4 of the 8 runnings but will not declare his intended runner(s) until the week of the race so best to wait until NRNB is available.
December 31, 2018 at 14:18 #1390908Getabird the likely runner from the Mullins yard if the Ground is going to be good but you are correct you wont know if he runs or not until final decs
January 1, 2019 at 22:38 #1391046Master Dino, France’s prior year 4 year old champion hurdler , is due to run at Plumpton on Sunday. Anthony Bromley has already spoken of the JLT being the target should all go well on Sunday.
January 2, 2019 at 11:52 #1391087I can’t believe how bad On The Blind Side jumped yesterday. Too bad to be true?
January 2, 2019 at 11:53 #1391089And Getabird won’t run as Willie has already stated he needs to go right-handed
January 4, 2019 at 13:18 #1391293La Bague Au Roi also ruled out of the Fez, looking like DRF then Aintree for the brilliant mare.
I had a bet on Vinndication last week NRNB at 10s. His form beating Champ looks very good from last season and he looks a natural over fences (apart from the first LTO) to me. Took NRNB as you never know with Kim if he’ll swerve the Fez or not.
January 5, 2019 at 10:50 #1391439I would like to bet Mortal for this, but as he is fav, I will wait and see if the picture changes.
January 5, 2019 at 19:17 #1391538Your JLT winner runs tomorrow folks.
Master Dino @ 16/1 e/w
January 6, 2019 at 12:59 #1391581I liked the look of Slate House at the start of last season and have stuck a bit on him at 33s EW with PP for this before the “Plumpton Arkle” today (plus a tiny wager at 50s for the actual Arkle…but looking at his breeding and the horse himself think JLT suit better).
January 6, 2019 at 13:17 #1391582Your boy did that very well MoM….a nice one to be one for the festival.
