Does anyone else think he’s getting carried away? Teofilo is a megastar now Creachadoir is going to be the second best three year old in Europe.
Anyone would think the’s turned into Vincent O’Brien. ;)
April 18, 2007 at 04:21 #52709Not normally known for hyperbole – makes a change from the Ballydoyle hype machine
To be fair if the 2 train together he has a better position to judge than us
The fact that he owns both may have a factor.
Best
April 18, 2007 at 13:38 #52710Jim Bolger is as shrude if not shruder than any other trainer in Ireland. And was offered and turned down the Ballydoyle job. Along with a huge price for Teofilio!!
April 18, 2007 at 13:42 #52711TEOFILO not TEOFILIO…. Some commentator or someone has decided to add that bloody I and now everyone gets it wrong..
I would guess he’s named after the great cuban boxer Teofilo Stevenson… Not that any of this has bugger all to do with the thread!!!
Shrewd
April 18, 2007 at 17:38 #52712Apparently the boxer’s name was Teofilio. But, irrespective, the horse’s name is Teofilo.
He joins the list of horses with misspelt names such as Risk Accessor, Definate Spectacle, Colnel Rayburn et many al
April 18, 2007 at 17:58 #52713And dare I say it Reisk Superman, Your A Gassman etc.
April 18, 2007 at 18:35 #52714It’s sometimes hard to tell whether a misspelt name is artful or not. At least it makes them distinctive. And I always loved being deliberate about the pronunciation of Risk Aksessor!
Irish Stamp, I believe Reisk is an Irish parish name.
April 18, 2007 at 19:40 #52715Carnt spell is a good one!
April 18, 2007 at 20:17 #52716Those blessed with a good memory and a fondness for 70 rated handicappers will remember Teofilio: the miler who seemed to run every week around the turn of the century. Trained by RUK’s Angus McNae for much of his career.
It’s take your pick whether the Cuban pugilist Stevenson and the Peruvian soccerist Cubillas were Teofilo or Teofilio as both have been used; the Gospel According to Wikipedia use the former.
It’s all Spanish to me.

Is he the shrewdest because he has the two Antepost favourites for the Guineas? What would make him as shrewd as Oxx, Weld or O’Brien?
