Seems to have disappeared from several top bookies lists, check Oddschecker.
January 26, 2012 at 08:06 #388310Only Hills aren’t offering a price…and they haven’t offered a price on him for 3 weeks.
January 28, 2012 at 14:30 #388704Sir Des Champs should be favourite for this now. The only problem with all these Gigginstown horses is the rider. Nearly threw it away today. How much more confident would you be if someone like Townend was on board.
January 28, 2012 at 14:34 #388706giving 5 pounds to cyclone, i thought the win was worht a little more distance. Caught on the rail and then switched at high speed just before the last i can forgive the only error albeit a blunder that nearly cost him and he showed devastating kick after that similar to his last win. I like him a lot. Hope he goes for this race though.
January 28, 2012 at 21:32 #388811Thought Sir Des Champs oozed class today. Very happy I’m on
January 28, 2012 at 22:02 #388823Giiginstown are having a gret sason but i am paranoid my ante posters will somehow go all wrong and i ould have picked the wrong races. Sir des for the jewson pretty please.
January 28, 2012 at 22:04 #388824Do not worry, Sir Des Champs runs in the Jewson. Last Instalment & First Lieutenant in the R&SA.

Does look more than likely, I’m just hoping for no nasty surprises!
January 30, 2012 at 11:58 #389027I always worry when I have nice prices about 2 horses for different races!
I am even more convinced SDC will win the Jewson and First Lt will run well in the RSA IF they take in the correct races
However we all know Mr Mullins is a law unto himself!!
January 30, 2012 at 20:02 #389088I did it last year with captain chris and wishfull thinking then hammered into wishfull thinking for the jewson and took chris on in the arkle. Still hurts. Oh the pain.
I am similar have sir des and last instalment, i just hope they go the way i bet. Also got stung by bobs worth but lumped for the albert so made amends.
January 31, 2012 at 14:49 #389181Impressive from Sanctuaire. I’d put that around 140-145 with stacks of improvement to come, if the mind lets it.
February 6, 2012 at 13:23 #390055Just watched an interview with Willie Mullins on the At The Races Cheltenham microsite, where he was talking about Sir Des Champs.
He said he’d imagine he’d run in the RSA
February 6, 2012 at 13:24 #390056That would make me deliriously happy.

Which would make me very happy too, since I backed him for the RSA at the start of the season. My reasoning was that in the conditional hurdle last year he needed every inch of the 20 furlongs, so the extra five furlongs of the RSA chase would be right up his street.
Of course, Gigginstown have others for the race, but who really knows at this stage which horse will go where?
Last year Sir Des Champs was entered up all over the place so I couldn’t take a price about him until his destination was confirmed.
This year I will back him (again) for whatever race he goes for, just like last year.
I love this horse, and I thought he won with a lot in hand the other day, even allowing for the excuses of the Hidden Cyclone camp, and the proximity of Fists of Fury.February 6, 2012 at 14:03 #390064I suspect he will still go to the Jewson. i hope so anyway.
Willie Mullins wants him to go RSA by the looks of the interview but mentioned both. I’ll back him wherever but Jewson looks weaker and a sure fire win too me. I notice he is being clipped a little for this race on oddschecker. 8s now unavailable.
Simply the other two wouldn’t be as good over 2m4 in my opinion whereas this lad could easily mop this up with his devastating jumpingand finishing prowess.
I think Mullins wants him to go rsa because he has nothing else for it.
February 6, 2012 at 15:51 #390078That would make me deliriously happy.
He’d be a negative on the stats – a 6 year old baguette ?
February 6, 2012 at 16:46 #390083Well yes, he’d be an easy lay on the trends, but to be honest this field I think is wide open and wouldn’t discount anything. I sense a shock in the RSA.
