Ill be steaming in on Monarch of egypt. looks a great price to my eye for this at 7/1, shorter than what he wants? 8f suited him well i thought, this is a stiff 7 though, will be coming late again, horrible fav in this, in what world is he a 3/1 shot for this as good as hes looked… place lay.
June 16, 2020 at 10:50 #1490853Also steamed into Mon of Egypt yesterday Ham, this could be the bet of the week! He would’ve gone very close in the Irish 2K with a clear run and that form is miles above anything else in this
June 16, 2020 at 18:01 #1490969Monarch of Egypt for me as well guys, 7’s seems fair.
I’ll also go with Ropey Guest at the five places, but I’m hoping for even bigger than 33’s.
Monarch of Egypt 7’s
Ropey Guest 33’s EW 5 PlacesJune 16, 2020 at 18:06 #1490971This would have been perfect for Threat but in his absence have to agree with Monarch of Egypt
Blackbeard to conquer the World
June 17, 2020 at 14:37 #1491080Looks like we are all on monarch of egypt
Iv gone 11/2 e/w 5 places
He wasnt put in the race at all in the irish guineas, I’m hoping that was just a blow out for this
June 17, 2020 at 20:05 #1491138Could be a racing forum celebration!
June 17, 2020 at 21:41 #1491151I don’t think MOE is a great price now. I was tempted with the 7s, but not convinced enough to back him even at that price.
He was eye catching in that he got no run in Ireland, but so many were “eye catching” in the race. They probably won’t all be grade 1 winners in waiting, and i wouldn’t be sure the race is that good.
This is a g3 though so he could still win it as technically a good drop in grade. Though it’s RA and it’s not a bad race so to speak.
I find him a hard horse to workout, what happened to him at the backend of the season? Shaped really nice behind Siskin at the Curragh, then fell off a cliff.
Can see the attraction to him though.
Think Celestin won’t prove up to it, and while he finished close to VL i doubt he’s that good. Final Song ran a fine race in the 1000G, but i doubt the form of than in the main will work out fantastic. Few of the market principles didn’t stay.
I think Mystery Power might be worth a small bet. He’s clearly got ability. Subjectivest ran a cracker today, albeit over 1m4. Beat Juan Elcano, who hasn’t done badly this year, albeit probably disappointing yesterday. Finished close giving 3pd to Pierre Lapin- he was beaten well that day, but given he was conceding 3pd over a trip probably a furlong short, it was a good run.
He escapes a g2 penalty here as well.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 17, 2020 at 21:49 #1491153I’ve played monarch of Egypt ….dull but he looks the value
June 18, 2020 at 10:18 #1491196I think things may have fallen right for Celestin here. I don’t
think the drop back to 7f will be a problem as he has the underfoot conditions
that will suit him more than most. Being an early bird I took the 13/2 with Hills.
He tired a bit last time out at Deauville, but the trainer seems confident that
he has fully recovered and is up for this.June 18, 2020 at 21:27 #1491200Great selections, VTC.
June 18, 2020 at 22:18 #1491214Nice Ista + Bobby.
Happy i sat out backing MOE now lol. Mystery Power was nowhere, less lost at least.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 18, 2020 at 22:23 #1491218I have no doubt that my least favourite jockey Jamie Spencer wouldve won on monarch of egypt today
Needed dropping on the line
Wd winners, he battled well
June 18, 2020 at 22:43 #1491230I was on Monarch of Egypt as well. At least I backed him each way and got my money back.
Not convinced it was Moore’s finest hour. I know he was slowly away but he was asked for a big effort early and did a lot of running just to get there, leaving him vulnerable in the last 100 yards. Moore possibly went too soon and should have waited longer.
June 19, 2020 at 00:24 #1491253Well done Istabraq
Thanks Jack and Sungold, very very happy with that.
June 19, 2020 at 01:04 #1491256I think Moore possibly thought he didn’t want to take a pull and halt the momentum the horse had built up
The big killer was being too far back to start with.
Not sure if that was Ryan’s fault or that the horse wasn’t playing ball in the first half of the race.
I’m more than half incline to blame the jockey who rode a similar race on Qaysar at Newmarket.Blackbeard to conquer the World
June 19, 2020 at 10:31 #1491289Thanks jack and vtc, looks like the soft ground isn’t a problem for molatham
