He’s your better looking twin, Mark…….
Not difficult
If only I were so young, Nathan.Value Is EverythingAugust 23, 2017 at 20:15 #1315124The presentation was utterly spoiled by Chapman… totally unable to bring gravitas and seems to think being over familiar ,mashing up people’s names and cracking lame jokes is appropriate no matter what ….embarrassingly bad and makes a joke of the sport. He obviously doesn’t watch himself back because this is chronically naff by any standards.A problem.
August 23, 2017 at 20:59 #1315136Was at York today – HRH did look bemused to begin with , as time went by he was laughing with the guy standing next to him.
Still MC does need reining in a bit. Maybe an encounter with Davy Russell might straighten out his kinks.
August 23, 2017 at 21:36 #1315142Oh dear MC – get yourself a ‘grackle noseband’ – ask Luke Harvey for advice on fitting.
August 25, 2017 at 13:16 #1315524Have you noticed how they try to avoid Simon Holt commentaries when showing old races. No qualms about using Goode’s, Cookes, Gilbert’s, Penny’s or O’Sullevan’s, they’ve even used the racecourse commentary as opposed to Holt’s. Think I did hear him in a 1 sec segment calling Galileo once. Very petty.
Weaver’s left hand – Always find it’s way to his trouser pocket, it’s always in there.
August 25, 2017 at 13:32 #1315530Yeah it still is……
oh, hang on he took it out, no back inBlackbeard to conquer the World
August 25, 2017 at 13:33 #1315531and Simon Nott has just walked past Matt Chapman
great start to the show…….Blackbeard to conquer the World
August 25, 2017 at 18:36 #1315633I saw the Chapman presentation when I was in line in Christies Hospital Pharmacy, interesting and unusually, they had racing on the big TV there. Several people including me were telling him to shut up, it was cringe-worthy. I just wish he’d shut up for good, I know some people like him, but he is an inappropriate person to be presenting the prize giving, he is Mr Poundland, cheapening racing. Can’t someone from the racecourse do it like they used to do?
August 25, 2017 at 21:33 #1315679I watch only the major meetings so I don’t know if I’ve missed something in the past few weeks but Francesca Cumani seems to have displaced Ed at centre stage, or have they always taken turn about? She’s certainly come on a ton and looks more professional and assured each time I see her. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her branch out and surpass C Balding careerwise in three or four years.
She could use just a bit of voice training to try and lower her pitch a bit. Otherwise, she seems highly professional, knowledgable (don’t know how she is on other sports or how hard she’d be willing to work) and very photogenic. Class act.
August 25, 2017 at 21:43 #1315680Spot on Joe, she is a class act, I said that from day 2, was a bit unsure day 1 perhaps she had first day nerves in the job but she has got better and better, I gave her a good pep talk at Newbury…
Ed does seem to have taken a bit more of a back seat of late although I tend to have it on whilst doing other stuff and wait for the races. And yes Francesca is very photogenic, am I Joe……?
Blackbeard to conquer the World
August 25, 2017 at 23:05 #1315698You were never more photogenic than when standing beside me at Cheltenham, mate!
August 25, 2017 at 23:55 #1315708Did Francesca or anyone else on ITV or RUK have the bottle (or should that be syringe?) to ask the Clenbuterol question today?
I hear Mr Ward likes to run his horses “fresh”. That doesn’t surprise me.
Value Is EverythingAugust 27, 2017 at 08:35 #1315945Just watched a recording of the Eclipse coverage, the sound effects were dreadful, a big distraction from the actual racing taking place, particularly at Haydock. Having said that RUK’s aren’t much better.
Chamberlin & Cumani lack knowledge and often come out with daft stats, nearly as bad as Tanya’s.
Surprised no one’s mentioned their superimposed winning line that is too wide and in the wrong place and then there’s that awful background music they have when showing a betting caption etc.
And Weavers left hand is still in his trouser pocket.
September 23, 2017 at 19:21 #1318675So, I tuned in to ITV4 just before the 3.25 at Newbury to discover the horses were going into the stalls. On asked for an opinion as to the winner of this race, Hayley Turner recommended Euginio on the basis that Ryan Moore was up, Richard Hannon was in form, and the animal was well drawn.
Imagine my surprise when the betting market was flashed on the screen and Euginio was nowhere to be seen. Furthermore, the horse was nowhere to be seen in the race, primarily because it had earlier been declared a non-runner.
Very poor by Hayley.
September 30, 2017 at 14:28 #1319452Oli Bell just asked Ryan Moore how excited he was about winning a bit like asking Kim Jong Un if he likes missiles.
When will these reporters learn Ryan Moore is there to do a job he isn’t interested in the media side he earns money to pay for his family and its just a job nothing more he isn’t Frankie Dettori he never will be.
September 30, 2017 at 15:12 #1319469Getting a little irritated by some of Francesca’s statements; the latest being that Shalaa retired to stud after his 2 year-old season. Cannot remember them all though another was Permian being Derby favourite after his Dante win… call me picky.
September 30, 2017 at 18:26 #1319515Today’s coverage was okay mostly because Matt Chapman wasn’t around trying badly to imitate John McCririck.
I’m surprised that ITV didn’t show Market Rasen today for their valuable hurdle and chase races which in my opinion were far more exciting than Haydock.
