Are we doing a TRF Summer World Series Tipping competition? Like the Winter edition. Would’ve thought 2000 Guineas day is a good starting point and finish British Champions Day. Or is that too long?
I don’t mind doing some scoring if there’s others who can do their bit too. Any volunteers? May be get four or five scorers who can share the job?

How about making a rule that wherever possible those who enter each week update their own scores. I know this is not always possible for some but it might make a tedious job a little easier.
Will each way be on offer this time?

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 28, 2013 at 17:03 #437755The idea hasn’t had a great response Jac, so not sure if it’s a goer. May be there’s a bigger jumping crowd than flat on TRF and so less interest. Then again, may be it’s because they know who’d win!

Each way betting increases time spent scoring, but we can put it to the vote.
I know we have the 9:00am cut off point for taking an Early Price. Wonder if we could let people nominate either SP or Tote odds at any time up to a final 1:00pm cut off (later than Jumping due to later start times).Good idea to encourage people to do their own scoring, although we will probably need a couple more scorers.
A) Who is interested in taking part in a competition starting on Saturday?
B) Is there anyone willing to help in scoring?
C) Are there any changes you want to see?Value Is EverythingApril 28, 2013 at 17:51 #437761

I’d be interested in this and would be more than happy to do my own scoring, someone mind explaining how exactly it’d work?

April 28, 2013 at 17:51 #437762Count me in, should keep the same system as the winter series but allowing each-way would be fine by me. I can help with the scoring if needed.

This is how the winter one worked,
FINAL 3 DAYS OF ENTRIES AINTREE FROM 4TH TO 6TH APRIL
The TRF Winter World Series of Tipping.
To find TRF’s most profitable tipster AND to see how we all stack up against the legendary Pricewise.
Rules –
Starts Saturday, ends on Grand National day.
Qualifying days – Every Saturday and Sunday PLUS Boxing Day and ALL days of Cheltenham’s March festival and Aintree Grand National meeting.
The aim –
Simply to try and get as much profit to a LEVEL STAKE as possible
The mechanics –
You need to post selections for the day’s racing by 12 Noon on the day in question
Your selections will be settled at SP UNLESS you post them by 9 am on the morning of the race – in which case you can nominate a price. We’ll do spot checks on availability of prices. It must be a bookmaker price (no exchanges) and must be a bookmaker who normally features in the Pricewise table. Anyone posting bogus prices will be a)banned from the comp and b)held up to ridicule
You can post as many or as few selections as you like BUT YOU MUST POST SELECTIONS FOR AT LEAST 60% OF THE SATURDAYS AND EACH DAY OF CHELTENHAM AND AINTREE to qualify.
WIN ONLY
Pricewise selections will be those published in the paper only – i.e no Pricewise Extra selections (I could do with a volunteer who buys the paper to post these – Anyone?)
You can tip in any race. Singles only.
No price nominated by 9 am on the day of the race – you’re on at SP.
NO EDITS – although you can add selections with more than one post per day’s racing. But once you’ve posted a selection you cannot withdraw it! Non-runners are void bets.
UK or Irish jumps and/or all-weather only.
NOTE – prices can only be taken up until 9 am on the day of the race and must be a bookmaker that appears in Pricewise table – strictly NO exchange prices either.
Dead heats settled at half stake to full odds
No rule 4 deductions (for ease)ELIGIBLE BOOKMAKERS
1 Bet 365
2 Betfred
3 BetVictor
4 Blue Square
5 Boyles
6 Corals
7 William Hills
8 Ladbrokes
9 Paddy PowerShould be the same or similar Ben.

Sounds great, could even do a cheeky £5 side-pot prize pool
April 28, 2013 at 20:26 #437780I’m more than happy to partake in the summer fun. But would rather take a break from scoring as I’m still shattered from the last one plus Cheltenham, Aintree and Champions League Comp and I’ll be doing an Ashes one soon too, if there’s any budding Cricket followers. More than happy to score my own points which I’ll put up after days racing.

April 29, 2013 at 01:23 #437793Sounds good to me and I can help with scoring if required. I’m sure a lot more regulars will turn up nearer the start time.
April 29, 2013 at 08:45 #437822You should include all days of Royal Ascot and maybe Goodwood aswell. 60% rule should remain or a minimum amount of selections required at the end to be eligible for final table.

April 29, 2013 at 10:22 #437832I’d be more than happy to help keep the scores for the Royal Ascot Meeting Tuesday-Friday as I will be back from holidays then. Let me know.
Weekends are a bit difficult but always there if needed and will add my own scores as we go along.
Already working on your next ode Ginge

I like the idea of including the full Ascot/Goodwood meetings but if people struggle due to work commitments that’s fine too
April 29, 2013 at 18:27 #437896Sounds great.

Is it win only, or are we allowing Each Way betting this time [Standard Each Way rules].

Plus are we counting Pricewise’s paper tips.
April 29, 2013 at 19:58 #437909Not another competition!…I’m in.
April 29, 2013 at 22:31 #437933Just a thought and to make it a little more difficult for Ginger
, could we restrict the number of horses selected per race to 2 win or each way.
If we are trying to beat Pricewise it would even up the boundaries a bit as I believe he never gives more than 1 or 2 selections in a race one sometimes being an each way wager.
Any thoughts? Jac
