I’m delighted to hear from you again Ben, I’ve missed your patter. It sounds like things
couldn’t be going much better than they are at the moment. The new romance in your life
has put an extra spring in your step, she sounds amazing. I’m genuinely chuffed for you
    mate, you deserve this.

As for the weather, it’s Dunoon after all. The tops of the hills have snow on them even
in the summer, but as someone once said, there’s no such thing as bad weather, only
inappropriate clothing. Nothing nicer on a chilly day to get wrapped up and have a
long walk along the loch. Ian is right though, the weather is going on a downward trend
unless we seriously do something about it. I’m not sure a lot will be done, apart from
plenty of hot air from our glorious leaders.

Nathan, that’s a real shocker losing your ticket, I take it you didn’t get anywhere with
Rewardsforracing. Have you given up or are you thinking of going on Thursday or Friday?
I hope you manage to get something sorted out. Good luck with the horses anyway :good:

Sam, happy birthday to your (not so wee) daughter, and your mum-in-law. I don’t know
where the years went either, I mean, for God’s sake my eldest is 43 !!!! I can hardly
believe it. At least, as you know, he’s made me a Grampa. That’s more important to me
than anything. Alexander is definitely the apple of my eye :good:

Keep in touch Ben, I’d love to know where your life goes, you’re an interesting fellow
and a downright decent chap. All the very best :good:

Hi Ben, I live in the west of Northern Ireland so it’s always like this for me. Being culchies we just worry about whether the grass is growing or not and whether you can get a tractor onto the fields without getting bogged.
The primroses are just thinking about coming out though, and there’s the all important “fair stretch in the evenings”.
Great to see you on here again and best regards to the new missus (Bruges for mussels and chocolate…she’s a keeper).

I always thought a Keeper was the UK Pointing name for a trainer – shows how much I know about relationships!

Great to have Ben back, makes this place even more human, somehow.

Great to see you back and doing well Ben.

I’ve all but given up the punting too, don’t miss it to be honest.

Good luck with your student endeavours, it’ll be worth the short term pain for the long term gain :good:

Rewards4racing had nothing on their site that was helpful. Cheltenham racecourse don’t replace lost tickets and I wasn’t going to fork out for another one. Its my own fault, one of those things… Blind Dave couldn’t believe I must have thrown it away by mistake instead of last years ticket when I told him Monday night at Snooker. I wasn’t overly keen on going with the Constitution Hills news but when Gaelic Warrior got declared I was in the mood again.

Have to agree I’ve never known so many damp days. Also so many bittingly cold days due to the wind chill factor. Overall winters are much milder than years gone by but summers are now a damp squid in Scotland and my lovely gas bbq has hardly been used in the last few years. John Cleese apparently spends 7 months in warmer places and 5 months in the UK. Lucky for him.
