With the weather forecast likely going against Hamish and O’Brien stating that Kyprios will need the run, Emily Dickinson is the one for me.
Took the 7/2 first show on her.

Will the ground be soft enough for Emily dickinson?

Thought eldar eldarov ran much better last time and think this trip will suit

But I don’t think 5s is big enough at this stage

I’m also not much of a fan of the curragh tbh, the bias to prominent runners seems to get greater by the year

Just been so hard on that round track to catch the front runners

Her best form is on softer no doubt but I think she’ll handle it fine as long as it isn’t firm.
She’s 2 wins from 3 at The Curragh also.

Hamish probably won’t even make the trip if the going is quicker than good to soft on Friday.

Says in the paper she won’t run if the ground isn’t soft enough for her

Dawn Rising for me. Small bet at 25’s right now, but can just see one pulling out, leaving a hefty R4. Don’t mind losing out at 25’s, but less keen at much reduced odds.

Think he’s worth a bet at the 25’s, as I thought he ran respectable race in the trial, and providing the forecast rain isn’t too severe, he should like conditions.

If there’s still the five of them before the off, I’ll top up

    Dawn Rising 25’s

With the showers forecast, 5/4 ED W/O kyprios & EE looks very appealing

3/1 w/o just kyprios is also worth taking IMO, predicting the weather is a fools game but shes had him in behind twice on gd/gf ground, any rain its a cert

Dawn rising does worry me though in the w/o markets, good luck vtc

Was going to lay the fav here but hes overpriced at around evs, he’s miles the best here, if he where backed into 8/15 then id say ill have a small lay but otherwise the w/o markets for me

Have decided to back eldar eldarov at 10/3

His best 3 career runs have been over 1m6f, he’s 112 over the trip and the 2 was when having to give 5lb and race fitness to Giavelotto

If he’s going to win a race this year it’ll be this one as I’m not sure he really stays 2miles that strongly

    Edit

As I just went to place the bet after typing this up I see emily dickinson is a non runner

So have taken 3/1 not 10/3

Strongly fancied Emily Dickinson and things were working out perfectly. Ground too quick on Friday to make the trip worth while for Hamish then heavy showers finally forecast for Sunday.

Official excuse is a stone bruise yet there was no mention of this from O’Brien yesterday evening.

To be honest, I don’t think they ever intended to run her if Kyprios made it. They really do favour certain horses.

Yashin would have been better off without the rain but at 20s I thought worth a few buttons.

Well done FF that was convincing. That race should put Kyprios right for Paris.

Would have to be pleased with that comeback – he kept on nicely and that would have blown the cobwebs away, hopefully he will have no ill effects coming out of the race and maybe the Cadran will be next on his agenda, which I have think trip wise will suit him much more than today.

This was the winners best chance of beating him with general fitness and most importantly race fitness a huge advantage. Do have to question the turnout though for a race of this kind with €342k to the winner and even the 4th picking up €24k.

    Strange pricing in the end

I’d have thought he should’ve been much much shorter than Dawn Rising

Once emily dickinson was pulled I’d have backed him at anything 2/1 or bigger over this trip

Won very nicely in the end

Solid reappearance run from kyprios, gives him something to work from if he stays sound

I don’t think the winner really gets 2 miles so can’t see him winning on champions day at ascot
