    Magical Lagoon 6/1
I’m not sure she beat a lot at Ascot but at the prices I’d rather have a crack with her than Emily Upjohn at 4/7
Tuesday won’t run.. Will she.?? will she.??

Congratulations to Thady Gosden who, after a thoroughly meritocratic interview process, emerged triumphant from the 68 million applicants for the job.

Emily Upjohn is the biggest certainty who ever looked through a bridle.

    Unless she’s in season.

Or the ground is too Firm.

    Or too Soft.

    Magical Lagoon 9/2 now
Possibly more in anticipation of Tuesday’s potential deflection.
Emily Upjohn has shortened too. I know Frankie didn’t give her the best ride in the Oaks but he did produce her with enough time to get past Tuesday if good enough on the day. That would be perhaps a question mark if she gets into a battle here. Tuesday seemingly didn’t recover going into the Irish Derby whereas Emily has had a longer break and more lightly race. She deserves to be a strong favourite as is clearly class and the track at Epsom would not have suited her fully.

Is she taking a sabbatical? 🤔

    Ian says

“Emily Upjohn is the biggest certainty who ever looked through a bridle.

    Or too Soft.”

    Gosden says

“The plane, which was going to be taking her to Ireland, they also use for Royal Mail.

“It was flying out of Edinburgh to pick her up and there was a bird strike. The plane that was meant to be taking her there now can’t get her in time and they can’t find another plane.
    “Unfortunately, we are completely snookered.”

Bet you didn’t see that one coming, Ian.??

    I didn’t – thank goodness I don’t bet odds-on ante-post.

You’ve got a cracking bet, Nathan – she could start odds on and I don’t see what beats her.

Magical lagoon really looks like she’d enjoy 1m6f

    Or 1m4f on softer ground

Typical galileo, just puts her head down and gallops

It was never going to be flashy, but she’s a real tough nut. Congrats Nath if you backed her in the end, congrats to Jessica Harrington, well deserved.

Great finish, although Foley had to get quite serious to keep her going. I counted seven forehand strikes, five left and two right, but can’t be certain about the last two, as they were on the far side. As a spectacle, I had no problem with it at all. But if that was a race in Britain in 2023, would she have won with seven backhanders? Not sure – I think Moore might have had him.
