3111- 86 Themoonandsixpence (WPMullins) . NHBallytrim stands out to me at the current prices. I think he’ll be much shorter this time next week. I think he’ll be Ruby’s mount and the money will undoubtedly follow like with Pomme Tiepy last year.
Saddlers Storm is probably still well ahead of the handicapper but there’s got to be a doubt over whether he’ll get in.
Novices have a great record in this and I might have an e/w nibble on something like Dancing Tornado, Telenor or Alpha Ridge.
March 28, 2010 at 22:29 #286187The Midnight Club is crying out for a trip!
March 29, 2010 at 09:01 #286210Hoopy and Officer De Reserve, but not until the day of the race. They are both fairly likely to be non runners. Otherwise, haven’t looked yet.
March 29, 2010 at 19:17 #286353Looking at that i like Galant Nuit….further the better for him i think.
Also Ferdy knows how to win this.
March 29, 2010 at 19:38 #286355Not sure that he’s running; if you check the William Hill/Kim Muir thread on the Cheltenham section David Parry said the race might come a bit soon for him. However, I’m sure he’ll keep us informed and, I agree, would rather fancy him to run a big race if he takes his chance. Good luck to him if he does.
March 29, 2010 at 19:52 #286357I’m really liking the look of Ballytrim for this, won over 3m6f at the Punchestown Festival last year so stays all day and although he’s 10lbs higher here, he’s still got to have a competitive chance.
Saddlers Storm interests me but I couldn’t have Becauseicouldn’tsee.
March 29, 2010 at 20:02 #286359After his Cheltenham exploits – A New Story must have a chance. Has placed in the race more than once.
March 29, 2010 at 20:38 #286367I like Alpha Ridge.

At risk of opening myself up to criticism if we change our minds later
; Galant Nuit very unlikely to run. Race will be too soon.March 29, 2010 at 21:15 #286376Thanks for info David. Surely a temptation to run with the soft ground, but definately a horse to take care of with regards to the future. As for A New Story, I was thinking about him myself [although he did have a 7lb claimer on board at Cheltenham which must have helped].
March 30, 2010 at 08:38 #286414I’m thinking about A New Story myself – I also like the look of Telenor and Oscar Time.
Hmmm.
BlueSky @pghenn.bsky.social
So don't run, just like the others always do
March 30, 2010 at 12:55 #286477The whole meeting could be in doubt at the moment. The going at the moment is heavy and it’s currently snowing where I am – only 10-15 miles away from the track.
March 30, 2010 at 12:58 #286482Nonsense imperial call, the weather is supposed to improve no end and we are to have a fine Easter. There is no danger to the meeting. Stop scare mongering.
March 30, 2010 at 13:08 #286488What forecast are you listening to?
Today’s Weather
A cold, windy afternoon, with outbreaks of rain and sleet, and with some snow mainly on high ground over Ulster north Connacht and north Leinster, giving accumulations in places. But brighter over much of Munster with occasional hail showers. Top temperatures just 2 to 7 degrees, and it will feel much colder in the blustery northerly winds.Tonight’s Weather
Further sleet and snow over the eastern half of the country tonight, with some heavy falls of snow over much of Ulster and Leinster. This mainly over high ground and mountains, but some snow cover is likely at lower levels too. Drier and clearer elsewhere with just scattered wintry showers. Winds fresh to strong and gusty north to northwesterly. Lowest temperatures -1 to plus 2 C.Tomorrow
Tomorrow Wednesday will be cold and windy with fresh to strong and gusty northwesterly winds. Some sunny spells but occasional showers also. These mainly of rain and hail , but a few sleet or snow showers are likely on high ground in the west and north of the country. Top temperatures 3 to 7 C.3 Day Outlook
Thursday will be dry and bright for the most part – no more than a few isolated wintry showers. Temperatures will be a few degrees higher than recent days, though still on the cool side. Winds will continue to decrease as they back westerly. However, they will further back south to southeast during Thursday evening and begin to strengthen again. Rain will spread from the southwest during Thursday night and may be preceded in places by a little sleet or snow, mainly over high ground. The rain will give way to showers on Friday, but some of the showers will be heavy and possibly thundery in places. Winds will decrease and become variable in direction. Saturday will be a brighter day, with sunny periods and scattered wintry showers and it will feel cold in a fresh to strong northwest wind.http://www.rte.ie/weather/leinster.html
It’ll be like the Bog of Allen come Sunday.
March 30, 2010 at 13:14 #286492Yes its awful conditions.
Wouldn’t put the cat out and i hate cats
March 30, 2010 at 13:54 #286504Poker de Sivola has come out of Cheltenham very well, must surely run in either the Irish or Scottish National
