Prefer Monterosso – solid option. Not convinced about the O’Brien horses, look a much of a muchness to me.
June 27, 2010 at 12:45 #303362She suffered an injury in the BC.Ran twice this year.Just like Midas Touch,Mikhail Glinka,JanVermeer,Cape Blanco, one good run,one not so good run.
June 27, 2010 at 13:13 #303366She ran a corker in the Irish 1000 Guineas.
June 27, 2010 at 16:00 #303391A corker won’t be good enough to win the Derby today.

There’s no winning with some people!
June 27, 2010 at 16:15 #303394Colm O’Donoghue once again advertised his skills with a great ride on Mida’s Touch, gave him a peach. D.Smith was interviewed earlier and said there was nothing between the three horses, he wasn’t wrong.
June 27, 2010 at 16:47 #303414Good race in the end…drew well clear of the Johnston Horse.
Jan Vermeer didn’t seem to stay but my word that Horse is going to be a Monster 4yr old. Haven’t got this excited about a flat Horse ever
Cape Blanco should go The King George next….give us a race we all want to see.
June 27, 2010 at 17:11 #303421They finished just as at Epsom Jan Vermeer,Midas Touch and now Cape Blanco. So where does it leave the Epsom Derby winner? Ten lengths in front just like at Epsom. At First Sight was not far behind after running at Ascot.
June 27, 2010 at 17:14 #303423Good race in the end, Cape Blanco redeemed himself somewhat leaving his French Derby performance behind him. He looked like he won it a shade cosily and showed that he definitely stays the trip.

with respect….I really can’t see why? Unless you are hoping to see him in The Supreme Hurdle in a couple of years

Although I backed him in The Dante, French Derby and again today I don’t think he has any hope of winning The King George
June 27, 2010 at 17:57 #303441I think he give Workforce a race.
How many times has a Epsom Derby Winner failed to win a race after winning The Derby.

I think you’re on drugs Wallace. That had to be one of the poorest Irish Derby’s of all time.
He wouldn’t blow wind up Workforces backside.
June 27, 2010 at 20:00 #303472Yet he stuffed him at York by 3l on the bridle
Strange that
June 27, 2010 at 20:02 #303473Yes and before i say it i know Workforce has improved about 2 stone since then
But
Cape Blanco certainly will give him a race…its not going to be a walkover for Workforce as many people think.
I not saying he will but i cant see how Workforce has to only turn up and win as most pundits are saying
June 27, 2010 at 20:17 #303476Perhaps it wasn’t the strongest Derby, I have seen worse. I do think the the runner up and third are good horses. I think I have already made my feelings known about Cape Blanco, he definitely stays 12f and he won with a good bit in hand today, there is no reason why he cannot give Workforce a run for his money if they meet at Ascot.

Wallace Cape Blanco will never beat Workforce again over any trip! The only danger to Workforces King George victory is his stable companion Harbinger,he is a beast too,but i always think the 3yo weight allowance in the King George is generous!
June 27, 2010 at 20:25 #303480The horse to take out of todays Irish Derby is
Jan Vermeer
,he was never put into the race until it was all too late,he has more scope than Cape Blanco and a bit of cut will suit,i"m not saying he will develop into a horse of
Fame and Glorys
calibre but he is a proper group 1 horse who should stay in training at 4 imo.
