    Could not disagree more.

MT had the run of the race….

    Treasure Beach = Leger Horse.

The way that race was run, I’m surprised it didn’t turn out to be a test of speed, as they looked to be going pretty slowly.

It looks as if TB will stay all day. Does AOB have the nerve to put him in at Doncaster?

    BlueSky @pghenn.bsky.social

So don't run, just like the others always do

Come on Ruby MT was the leader from the start,Seville used him as a pacemaker and he was swallowing them up again in the final hundred yards again despite being used by the other OB horses to set the pace.Watch it again,Joseph started to ride only when Carlto House looked like taking third place from him.Otherwise he was content to let the "selection" have the race.

The Curragh isn’t a flat galloping track, its a very stiff uphill climb before the slope down to the straight

    :)
Whats the Over/under on Consecutive Irish Derby wins for Ballydoyle. 8.5? And on 1-2-3 Derby finishes until O’Brien retires 9.5? I know no bookies will give you odds but with their amazing middle distance breeding system and the fact a lot of the other big yards in Ireland are stuggling for credible Derby candidates year in year out it looks like Coolmore/Ballydoyle/O’Brien will continue to dominate this race for years to come

In the drying conditions and at the prices it is Treasure Beech for me as well. I think he is underated and his form really stacks up now.

I thought that he outstayed CH in the Derby and they wont crawl today either so stamina has to be an issue for CH.

ROC would be a danger if allowed to dominate – he is a different horse in those circumstances and Seville’s Derby run was surely too bad to be true?

    TB for me though.

Spot on hey?! Makes a change. Underated ever since thrashed by the Wonderhorse. Maybe he’ll get a bit of credit now?

How is Carlton House not 8/11, 4/6.

This Field is not in the same league as CH

Would love to lay him at odds on, but around 5/4 might have to do. Most unfounded hype of any horse this season. Dylan Thomas was 9/2f here after being 3rd in his Derby…go figure

Only regret is not place laying the "certainty" to the hilt, win lay will do tho

Fair doos, Slowhand – thanks for educating me. I think I got carried away with the comparison to Epsom.

Shame you couldn’t disabuse me of my belief that Carlton House had the race at his mercy while you were at it!

Much credit to those that backed Treasure Beach and opposed Carlton as a hype horse or one that didn’t stay.

The Stoute camp has been very quiet over his defeat.

    Perhaps there are no excuses.

I felt that he may not have stayed but he also raced a little flat. However, he may just be one-paced. I would deffo give him a chance over 1m 2f in a top class race.

Having been informed by the media that Pirateer beat Treasure Beach at Listowel I went to ATR to review that race. Instead I was shocked to find the two favs ridden by Seammie and Joseph and the outsider, who finished last, alas, ridden manfully by Murtagh. I thought to my self what a slap in the face to that great jockey. It is sad to watch. He had incidentally ridden the horse to victory in his two races before Listowel and was jocked off apparently so that Joseph could win the Apprentice championship, in this case Joseph failed to deliver; I realise then that there can only be one star at Ballydoyle. The resident jockeys will be kept in their place by sharing the rides so that nobody is the star, except perhaps Joseph the son of the star.

    Irish Derby

Carlton House a paceless boat, no change of gear.

    OMG…

    Hi Ruby – OMG!! – That’s a tad bit harsh!! :D
Did any of them not look boat like (really?!) the type without a ready change of gear needed to help them outrun the rapids?! USCWAP
On the right course from the front they could be deadly!

In the words of the late great – Peter Falk, "Just one more thing." :D

Fair play Aidan you are a genius. Galway Nursieries to Irish Derbies.
    YOU ARE GOD!!!!!!!!

This brought back something that I was thinking about in the run up to Epsom…

Everyone questioned Fab’s record in the race – nine or ten – (I’m given up on counting) when sending ‘Pour Moi’…

Not one mention was made that "God" had sent out that number in two years (probably? – it’s a counting thing again) – compared to those during the longer period of time that ‘Fab’ had been sending them…

In short there are gods and then – there are gods!

    Nice post Zenjah

He just looks like a boat on Sunday…didn’t have any change of gear yet showed some in the Dante. Maybe Seville just completely folded in the last 1/2 furlong in the Dante and i tend now to think that was the case.

I still can’t believe Treasure Beach is better than Recital…not in a Million years. Hopefully the leggy Super Model Montjeu will come back and show us all how good he is. A fantastic 4yr old career beckons IMO.

Cheers Ruby – there’s no doubting the truth in your name by the way!
(Even if I’m not a fan of the jumps) – I have to give credit where it’s due :D

Re: ‘Carlton’ – I just don’t think that the Curra suits some horses (maybe him)… the way that races are run, the course or whatever?? – it seems to suit the "Grinders" over those distances – in my eye anyways…
Probably this view was formed (or helped) after I saw ‘Bago’ made to look one paced in an egg and spoon race for example… :|

I tend to agree with you about TB being the "one" there – I say this ‘cos he doesn’t seem to be named like their choice colts normally are… dare I say it? There’s something tacky there! – I’d be surprised if he was ever their "numero uno" – it’s the norm to send the hackers here there and everywhere in trying to get a line on the best of the rest isn’t it?!
    He certainly had that look…
and now ‘Recital’ has that of ‘St Nic’! :!:
All the potential but will he get to the track again this year?

As well as ‘Sev’ – people are still waiting on ‘Casa’ to show his form – I’m a bit surprised that people are still persisting/hoping that the RPT was any good?!!
Frankie was meant to have said after the JC that he needed three more weeks still… make or break then!

What do we make of ‘Woderic’? – Beaten over three or so lengths more than in the JC over two furlongs further this time (give or take) – when the view was that he didn’t stay in France??
