If shes ok the calmer waters and slower pace of the Mares Hurdle would arguably make more sense than thinking she could beat CH after that experience.

It won’t be that much “calmer” if Brighterdaysahead goes there.

Lossie still shorter – only 6 on betfair – for the Champion while State Man is 9.4.
Brighterdaysahead has shortened a little to 6.4 since this morning’s 8. Although she’s still 2.26 for the Mares, while Lossie is now 4.4…

Suggests Lossie is still more likely to go the Champion route.

WPM was interviewed on RTV before the bumper, Ginge, and said the Champion Hurdle is still the plan for Lossie.

A little surprised but glad the Champion Hurdle is still the plan for her although it is not ideal going into that (or any) race off the back of a fall.

We can’t possibly know as punters but my suspicion is Mullins and Townend want to split them and the balls in Ricci’s court but with the caveat that Townend probably won’t be on her if he chooses the Champion Hurdle and State Man turns up. Feels like there are some ownership politics in play and the Donnellys have more clout than Ricci now

Seen that interview on Youtube, Glad. :good:

State Man now 10.5 betfair and 15/2 tops with a couple of small bookies. Is he ok?
It was a better performance by State Man than in the December Hurdle, but didn’t have much to beat in the end. Now 8 which is pretty old for a hurdler, particularly an ex-French hurdler who’s been on the go since a 3 year old.

If Lossie is showing no lack of confidence in her jumping at home and both turn up for The Champion – I’d expect Townend to be on Lossie.

It was unfortunate and no one’s fault but it is very unsatisfactory to see a race with the words “Champion Hurdle” in the title won in that manner. :-(

Mullins saying he’ll speak to Ricci in the interview tells you all you need to know
