Anyone got any fancies for this?

Ive backed Montefeltro been impressed by what I’ve seen of him so far, Ellison wouldn’t send him over there if he wasn’t confident of a big run.

This comes under the same category as yesterday’s Cesarewitch……bloody impossible. I’m almost inclined to take a leaf out of Moehat’s book and just pick something without any consideration at all (well he did get two placed yesterday, which is near on bloody amazing) However, years of self delusion that I actually know something about this sport simply won’t allow me.

It would be easy to make a case for Weather Watch, he looks tailor-made for this, his last two races show he will get this trip well, which they will have to as it’s run at scalded cat pace, and he has been finishing better than anything at the end of his races. However, in line with my thoughts yesterday with Tiger Cliff, I’m not for having a single figure price in a 30 runner handicap (even although 5 winners out of the last 10 were single figure).

Having looked for something with a bit value, I like horses which are going the right way, and Crystal Earth certainly fits that bill. He had two comfortable wins over 1m6f and 2m, before a bit of an indifferent run at Leopardstown. Last time out he ran a very good race, just failing to catch Fisher Bridge over 2m2f at Down Royal.

Getting that extra distance will be a plus here, and if he were trained by O’Brien or Weld he wouldn’t be on offer at 33-1 with Betvictor. I’m having a bit of that.

    Good luck.

Outstanding Danny, well picked out from a really tough race. I hope the bookies paid dearly :D

    Thanks BigG,

They didn’t pay as much as I’d have liked due to the nature of the race didn’t really go in big, wish I had now!

I backed both Montefeltro and Weather Watch. The favourite ran an absolute shocker, never within hailing distance. I find the Harrington stable very difficult to fathom both Flat and NH. Contrasting fortunes of two of the the touted apprentices.
