Novel Legend also chased home Sweet William giving him 6lbs and we know what Sweet William has done since.

September 24, 2023 at 13:30 #1664276Both of you are correct, RTB and Chivers. I also like the trainers to be in better form, but 14/1 seems fair to me. The way it seems to be pouring at the Curragh right now, I’d be also looking for a staying mudlark at 50s or more.

Winner 150/1
Oh, dont u just love Irish horse racing?
September 24, 2023 at 16:20 #1664308Anyone do the forecast ….
September 24, 2023 at 16:27 #1664310Now, that’s an interesting result. Horses winning at 100/1+ is becoming a habit in Ireland. Everyone has lined up one.

September 24, 2023 at 16:30 #1664312Winner a half brother to lagostovegas so it was obvious really…
If you ignore his 4 previous handicap runs where he’d barely beaten a horse home
Irish racing is just awful a lot of the time on the flat let’s be honest
September 24, 2023 at 16:31 #1664313Whenever I need a reminder not to bet on Irish racing, results like this one happen.
September 24, 2023 at 16:34 #1664314Last time I bet on Irish racing was the few weeks it was on during Covid, not one winner or even close.

September 24, 2023 at 16:38 #1664315“Been doing well at home”
“Wasn’t unexpected”
“We were hopeful”
“Had excuses for his previous runnings”
“We had this as a long term target”Which ones?

Er, if that was a plot why did it go off at 150-1? (And available at 250-1 I think at times today). If it was knocked in from 250-1 to 4-1 then fair enough. I think the horse is just an odd character.
September 24, 2023 at 16:47 #1664317You know how it was meant, green. Joseph’s stable is not always a gambling one, unless the owner is JP.
Well done to him, anyway.September 24, 2023 at 17:50 #1664329Also worth noting Drop The Anchor drifted from 14/1 out to 40/1 (around 90 on Betfair) and finished 24th.
September 24, 2023 at 19:23 #1664354That is bad luck, VtC, but great selection! Only saw the race once, but looked to me as if Falcon Eight needed a few more yards to bag the prize. On your rec, I chose to back Falcon Eight ew, so, though I had a couple of others in the race, came out ahead. Only bets of the day. Too busy painting the outside of the house. The weather must have wrecked all the form forecasts at the Curragh. Maybe you were able to cash in on Falcon Eight?
September 24, 2023 at 21:26 #1664376Trainer states horse don’t like being crowded in races , so he gets sent round at 150 to 1 in 30 runner field . There was a good chance he was going to be very crowded , big prize and fair enough they rolled dice but struck me bit odd .
September 24, 2023 at 22:52 #1664393Thanks Sungold. Took my stake back in running off him, so a free race for me, but that was more important for my stake on Stratum, who I’m not convinced even ran. Not his best run. Chuffed though with Falcon Eight, and a big run. So close, just like last year.
