just want to know people’s thoughts on this? There is the hard luck story of Nahoodh in the English version but i cant get Saoirse Abu out of my thinking the only problem i have is the ground for her will it be to fast?
May 23, 2008 at 18:39 #164975If Nahoodh runs, Nahoodh wins.
It’s fairly simple really.
May 23, 2008 at 20:43 #164996Looks a poor quality race for a Guineas. Nahoodh ought to win even if reproducing nothing better than her unlucky Newmarket form.
May 23, 2008 at 21:08 #165003Kitty Matcham for me. O’Brien tends to target the fillies at this one rather than Newmarket and she had no chance held-up of a slow pace there.
With two in to set a strong pace it should be a good test which will suit her perfectly.
She might just prefer the ground a little easier but 7’s is a big price nevertheless.May 24, 2008 at 17:18 #165141Seems like Godolfin have bought Nahoodh .This is one race where Dermot always seems ready to take on Aidan so it should be a mighty race.
May 24, 2008 at 20:47 #165167Channon trains his horse like there was no tomorrow. You can be assured of one thing Nahoodh wins nothing lay her till the cows come home and make yourselves a few quid
May 24, 2008 at 22:25 #165178I can accept that Nahoodh was denied a clear run in the Guineas, but whether that merits 9/4 or 5/2 is another matter. Also, I’m not certain whether Kitty Matcham will finish ahead of Halfway to Heaven, as the latter’s proximity to Zarkava surely deserves respect.
Put Saoirse Abu, Mad About You and Carribean Sunset into the equation and I’m tempted to lay Nahoodh if she gets shorter… the only thing is I’m bloody useless at laying!
Will all of these run on firm ground?
May 25, 2008 at 09:30 #165221Nahoodh looks plenty short enough at 11/4. Yes on the day in the Guineas at Newmarket she was unlucky, but they didn’t go all that quick there, whereas with the Ballydoyle pacemakers in today, there should be a proper gallop. I fancy Kitty Matcham in this. If it hadn’t been a classic last time, I would have wondered if she was that busy at Newmarket. She certainly wasn’t at all knocked about once it was clear her chance had gone. With that as like a prep for this, I think she’ll be spot on today.
May 25, 2008 at 11:50 #165251i fancy Saoirse Abu to win as imo has the best form and properly is the best horse, Also ew fancy Savethisdanceforme even being an inconsistant sort this could be a running day.
i have Nahoodh way down on my list
just for interest my ratings for the race are as follows
Saoirse 141
Savethis 133
halfway 130
carribean 126
mad about 123
nahoodh 119
myst 114
evas 114
kitty 08
milton 103
tuscan 99
soinlove 98
queens 90May 25, 2008 at 11:59 #165255Carribean Sunset recorded a fair timefigure at Leopardstown back in April that puts in her in with a squeak today, narrowly beating Halfway to Heaven who should appreciate the sounder surface. Those 2, at current odds, will do for me.
May 25, 2008 at 15:09 #165293The master strikes again!

Tuscan E/W @100
Would have got away with that @ Exeter
May 25, 2008 at 15:36 #165299Excellent Scallywag. Highlighted the 1/2.
That run behind Zarkava kind of stands out a bit obviously now. Isn’t that always the way after the race, it’s staring you in the face.

1/2 have they changed the result again

Not my week had chelsea on penalties too, i’m off to hibernate again!
May 25, 2008 at 17:38 #165311Thanks for your comments guys.
The result represents a couple of minor personal triumphs, one of which marked my first foray into betting exchanges and 10.5 to 1 about the winner.
Things can only go downhill from now on!
