    Albigna 7-4 for me.

Might be a class above these.

I’d say for this race she probably will be Mike!

I have a good few in the market in my horses to watch this season that i’ve stuck up on my thread in the Notebooks section.

The one thing i would say is for a 7/4 shot, her French g1 win doesn’t mustard much formwise does it?

She probably won’t have much on the formbook to beat here still, with Love, Alpine Star, Peaceful (i presume) and Millisle heading to England.

I like Ridenza as a filly, but she would need to step up a lot and had a setback after her win. Also, like New York Girl.

So wonderful at 8s has room to shorten again i suspect, but i don’t particularly like her, and think she’s tricky.

Ground in France was very soft and she still won nicely. You can only beat what’s in front of you as they say. The second could still turn out useful as she prefers cut, not like it was last week.

No Mike, the only runner is Love there now. so i presume Peaceful + SW are coming here.

Yes but beating whats in front of you still provides us with form to look at. She beat a decent horse in Marieta, but Marieta’s form isn’t top notch beaten 2.5l by Tropbeau as well on soft. Trainer said Marieta didn’t probably stay well either that day.

The question is does beaten Marieta, Precious Moments (1/2L) and Tango (a hd) give her fantastic form? Not for me but the others haven’t proven themselves and are more inexperienced, so for this race i can see why you’d back 7/4 just about. Would i back her myself, no, it’s possible the other fillies will have improved already.

Albigna may well have improved from 2 to 3 also. No reason she has stood still even if other fillies have improved over the Winter. The ground in France would have blunted her speed but she had the race in the bag in the closing stages, on decent ground she may have romped it. Peaceful could go well if she runs and all is ok but wonder why she didn’t go to Newmarket.

I’m happy to be on the favourite. :good:

Oh yeah should could certainly have improved. Nothing to suggest the ground would have blunted her speed though. Given the 2nd struggled to stay, i’d doubt it mattered. Just my points Mike, not saying you are right or wrong, but you don’t seem to like pointing out some negatives on horses you select :good:

I try not to tip one and talk negative about it. Happy to respect opposition though, if there is some. :-)

Just having a quick look through albignas breeding and I’d be slightly worried she wont have trained on

A lot of zoffanys progeny are better at 2 than 3, or only marginally better at 3

There’s a lot more encouragement on the dam’s side of the family, FF91.

I think there’s a reason Peaceful was rerouted here. AOB said a while ago “if we want to have a Coronation Stakes runner we have to run them at Newmarket” Speaking about Peaceful and So Wonderful. Then Peaceful gets rerouted to here for 2 reasons I think, 1) They knew Love was going to win 2) They know Peaceful has a massive chance here otherwise they would have let her finish behind Love and then have more preparation time before the Coronation Stakes.

I’m not a massive fan of the Jessica Harrington Fillies over a mile, she’s spoken about both wanting further and Millisle ran a shocker in the English 1000.

    Peaceful 3/1

If they ran Peaceful over at Newmarket they were leaving themselves short in this G1? Love clearly had more form in the book than Peaceful, and has probably been tasked with the 1000G, Coronation (should suit her even more) and then an Oaks.
Why aren’t you a fan of JH fillies over a mile?

I’d be a little surprised if Love took in Ascot before the Oaks myself.

Maybe not, going to Newmarket gave them the better chance too if they wished- like Wichita for the SJP.

No way Love is running at Ascot Jack, she’s going straight to the Oaks. I just think it’s a very good chance they think Peaceful will win otherwise it would have made sense not to risk it and let her prep in the eng Guineas

I’m not a fan of Albigna or Alpine Star over a mile, I think they both want further this year and Millisle bombed when fancied by her so she doesn’t give me great confidence. I’ll take AOB in classics any day over her with all due respect

I’ve questioned Aligna’s form myself earlier on this thread- i thought you were meaning JH fillies over a mile in general! Millisle hadn’t proved herself over a trip further than 6f- personally speaking she’s totally different to the other too. Staying the mile as a 2yo on soft, suggests they will stay further, but then again, so will Love!

I like Peaceful as a fully, but i do think she might want further as well in time. I’d marginally side with her over Albigna, but not enough to bet.
This race for me is more for the notebook with the unexposed ones at bigger prices.
