Gents, can you assist?
I need an online resource that gives me up to the second details on what horse is the favourite. I trade with BF, but often the favourite on there is not the favourite that goes off. Oddschecker is fine, but it’s just a selection of bookie’s prices. Sure you can make a sound educated guess, but every day I seem to miss one.
Any idea of a reliable site that can give me the favourites as it goes off on track?
Many thanks.

Gives live shows, but I cannot personally vouch for how up-to-date/accurate they are. It may be worth monitoring if you have not done so already.
March 13, 2009 at 17:26 #216040Hi Beedie
You’re asking the impossible I’m afraid the SP (as the name implies) is not available until AFTER the off. Mostly it’s obvious but sometimes changes occur too late to be transmitted. The Sporting Life service is provided by OddscheckerMarch 14, 2009 at 19:05 #216344Prufrock, thank you.
Kentdougal, I am not after the SP: I just want to track the movements of what goes off as favourite. Oddschecker is fine, but sometimes what appears as the ‘top-line’ favourite on a specific Odschecker race page is not always the favourite at the off.

Use the Paddy Power shows, they usually update to the SP shortly after the off as well.
March 14, 2009 at 20:04 #216356Is it still the press association who are providing the live shows through the sporting life. I know it used to be, but looking at their resource sheet
http://www.pa-sport.com/resource/PDF/Racing%20product%20sheet.pdf they only mention live shows for their greyhound service.March 14, 2009 at 20:32 #216361Hi Beedie
What goes off favourite as you put it IS the SP favourite. That’s how it gets the ‘f ‘ behind the price when the result is shown and that’s not known until the last prices are collected and averaged from a prearranged set of bookmakers at the off.March 16, 2009 at 01:38 #216656Yes, Kentdougal is correct.
There are probably millions of punters across the country who do not realise this.
As for betfire, I asked them how does a punter back the unnamed fav; the reply suggested that there is no facility for this, other than taking a guess.March 16, 2009 at 17:00 #216789Kentdougal, Seanrua, perhaps I make myself misunderstood.
I’m not after what goes off as favourite; I acknowledge that this would be the ‘SP’ favourite.
I want to track the movements in the market that create the official favourite, up to the point of the off. Individual sites generally conduct their own markets and prices, and BF’s pricig is totally diiferent on a number of races.
I will test run all of the suggestions given here.
Many thanks.
