January 3, 2019 at 20:14 #1391234Congratulations Bobby (VTC), it’s very well deserved. There should be a trophy
named after you at this rate….the VTC trophy for Poster Of The Year, it’s got
a ring to itI’m sure Nathan must know how Richard Johnson must have felt when AP was on the
go. That was a close one this year Nathan, the pair of you put in some shift year
after year. Well done guysA well deserved Thread Of The Year for Bob Rolf with 4pp + Daylight Cup. 20 years and
still going strong BobJanuary 3, 2019 at 22:39 #1391246Well done Bobby (VTC)
Some great informative posts, tips and general banter, what I like about Bobby is the fact that however small a contribution you make on one of his Threads he always acknowledges it and gives it a heads up or a positive comment.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 4, 2019 at 13:05 #1391284When I have sneaked in here over the past four years it has always been around midnight and it’s just such an amazing success and it keeps rolling on… incredible and huge congratulations Venture for being unopposed in the yearly draw since my absence and for all your unstifled energies and yes that’s another record which will stand for as long as the site breathes, I guess.
Nathan hard cheese old son – I gave you a leg up at the end, and in all seriousness if it had been neck and neck down the finishing straight, I probably would not have voted at all – not worthy enough – not seeing the wood for the trees in my absence. Well if Yeats had been in it I might have voted for him as he has been such an unstinting admirer The draw that I remember most was the year Daylight called an abandonment and Razeen held an unofficial comp in the lounge and compered the runners with that Raz a mataz and downright curled lip disdain he was best at – Ian Davies won it by a few and he already had two titles if I remember well —- I am off to the lounge ..cough.. cough..sneeze
January 4, 2019 at 16:29 #1391315WD inhouse winners VtC and Bob R, and the other winners as well. I was pleased Dr McGoldrick got the hero award but Bryan Cooper was a great nomination too. The video clip is worth a watch for anyone who hasn’t seen it. How he saw, understood and reacted so quickly after his own fall- still on his knees when he caught Robbie Power’s horse- is amazing. I still remember the still photos from that jockey in Australia getting dragged over fences, and there is a reason why stunt riders consider a drag to be one of the most dangerous tricks.
January 4, 2019 at 22:50 #1391355TOP STUFF BOBBY Well deserved and Nath a deserving runner up too!! I could have voted for three or four people in this category . There are some great posters on here and the only one I would disagree with strongly is Lydia Hislop ? IMO Alistair Down should win this every year but hey ho what do I know !!
Well done organising it Nath
January 7, 2019 at 02:22 #1391649Deserved winner Bobby
Five in a row row
STREUTH that’s almost
impossible but we
thought that about midnight.
I can’t keep saying it
enough
But I do keep saying it
don’t I ?
Nathan in the role of honour you missed out
the seconds. They are good people the seconds
not the winners BUT
they deserve their place.Plain or pearl ?
how do you knit a sock ?
I want to cover me head.January 7, 2019 at 03:08 #1391651Not forgetting another
Bobby winner BOB ROLF
Well done Bob hugely deserved for the most popular thread of the whole year ( an old suggestion from the old and ill one)Look both Bobbys can you do yourself a tremendous favour and links hands and go listen to Susan Maughan on U tube and the 1962 hit Bobby’s Girl…why dont you link it up Nathan… and guys she’s still in her prime
Believe me.January 7, 2019 at 13:57 #1391689I overheard Triptych and Moehat singing this on presentation night
I can’t believe how close I was to Vtc in the end
a bit embarrassing considering the input of so many good posters on here that I got 2nd
About time the likes of Joni, Ginger and Steeplechasing stepped up a gear, eh…!!!Blackbeard to conquer the World
January 7, 2019 at 23:52 #1391757Thank you so much Nathan – I enjoyed that and the next song…life was simpler back then and with deeoer enjoyment but maybe lacked the possibilities of Alexa and well extreme possibilities !
To win poster of the year you must appeal to a wide audience and usually have some specialised horseracing knowledge – there are occasional exceptions
January 8, 2019 at 00:24 #1391768VTC is very likely to win this next year – he must be a strong favourite – and unless some sort of seismic change happens – Ginger joins the priesthood or Steeplechasing goes through the card at Chelters and swims the channel- he will pick up an unassailable sixth. I think he deserves all the credit and laudits on here – he is bigger than midnight.
January 8, 2019 at 00:43 #1391771Did Alan Potts win it one year or was he second ? I think its a shame we have carelessly lost the dead sea scrolls – It’s like the Mafia losing Italy
De Niro … “What’s wrong with you “?
De Niro… Look at me – I said what’s wrong with you ?
January 9, 2019 at 00:02 #1391865“My name’s Sarah
Fifeen years ago I had a tattoo, and it doesn’t do me justice.”Take it to the Hague Sarah !
This is the sort of person that,is marked in such way, and could never win
POSTER OF THE YEAR.Has a woman ever entered ?
Is it politically correct to ask ?
Has anybody fooled the electorate ?
January 10, 2019 at 08:27 #1391990Billion was joint winner in 2011
He wore a flowery dress to presentation night
not sure if that countsBlackbeard to conquer the World
