This forum enhanced my enjoyment of the festival big time. I can say it in heindsight because i didn’t lose on the festival – all i wanted was to break even and enjoy the spectacle -, but the work that Cormack & all the regulars put into this board is special. You have made newcomers to the sports welcome, and have tolerated all questions and views.
I hope you all enjoyed the festival, and may this forum continiue to be the undisputed, quintessential benchmark of horse racing forums on the web. I feel like rambling on further as my need for a beer becomes greater, but i’ve less ‘GCE’s’ than Rodney Trotter, so i will end my post.
Thanks.
March 13, 2009 at 23:48 #216141I have always thought that Graeme. It’s the only forum I use and whilst I don’t use it as much as others, Sometimes when I’ve had a s**t day I grab a can, log on and everything is better
The Cheltenham stuff has been wonderful and I salute you all.
CrizzyMarch 13, 2009 at 23:50 #216142Agreed. Excellent forums. Its great to be able to discuss the greatest sport in the world with like minded people who have the sport in their veins.
My thanks to everyone who contributes.
March 14, 2009 at 00:13 #216145Good replies folks. It’s good to have a format to brain pick, and question folks who can by and sell us with regards to the sport. Many forums would isolate our novice opinions and views, but this forum through my own experience has been first class.(my opinion as a new comer)
March 14, 2009 at 00:43 #216154I heartily agree! I’m no expert as you know, but to come here where other people understand the thrill and excitement of the whole palava that is the Cheltenham festival is wonderful. We can all share the ups and the downs together and know that everyone else’s mouth is watering as much as mine is. Thanks Corm and everyone

My husband’s just come home from work and said "How did the Gold Cup go then?" I thought he was genuinly interested, so I told him Kauto Star won and he said "Never heard of him". That sums it up in a nutshell doesn’t it?

March 14, 2009 at 01:47 #216178Some passionate people talking about what they like – its this forum – thats national hunt for you

How some people seem to enjoy horses running in a straight line not jumping anything in the heat of summer is beyond me

Guess I’ll go back to my cave after the national
