I am extremely impressed by Brown and Harpersons commitment to the much needed "inequalities bill"

At a time of economic crisis with hundreds of thousands losing their jobs, the solution is clearly in the production of more paperwork for businesses and further audits by civil servants (who are having to compete in a tough marketplace for work and have long term concerns about their retirement) to ensure "equal pay"

This is just what the country requires

I have long considered Harperson to be a witty, visionary and exceptionally intelligent politician…. Now she has proved it to the public at large who will be thrilled with this initiative which is perfectly timed

We are waiting for the results of the review for the local council, where my wife hangs around during working hours. The equal pay thing isn’t quite going to plan though, it looks like she might be getting dropped down a pay grade or two and getting a pay cut.

You are right though Clive, we do need some sort of meaningless initiative, in the current climate.

.. the good people of Manchester will be able to get ID cards soon, the pilot city for the scheme .. a bargain at £60 a pop.

That’s on top of £90 for a passport and £50 for a driving licence.

The ‘prove who you are’ racket?

I’ve no particular problem with ID cards, though if Big Bro’ wants to know who I am he should – for that privilege – have the decency to present me with a small gratuity, say a crisp tenner

    Me pay   :!:
