I saw one bookie take a fiver on a 20/1 shot and cut it to 5/1!!!! The place was mad busy as well.. I think that was near Market Harborough – Can’t remember the name of the track.
April 1, 2008 at 18:34 #154999The location sounds like Dingley, but the bookie’s behaviour doesn’t sound very typical – they tend to be reasonably generous there in the scheme of things. You must have spotted the one tight-a*rse in action!

April 2, 2008 at 10:17 #155087Having only been to NH tracks prior to that with everything being electronic I was just amazed watching the guys with their books working out the prices on the go. Literally stood there for about 20 minutes engrossed! Shocked at some of the prices but still engrossed!
My friends can’t understand how i’m so into this sport but with so many varieties, nuances, characters and an ever changing landscape I don’t understand how they’re not!!!

April 2, 2008 at 10:22 #155091I used to love hunter chases and was very profitable betting in them, but with so many ex professional and professional trained horses its harder to seperate those who still have abilty from those who are shot to pieces and its merely an attempt to get another race or two out of them. Also there seems to be fewer good young hunters coming through.
