It was as jarring as that at Ludlow last night, was it, Cheekster? I did notice Saint Godegrand breaking down when I went through the re-runs this morning, and wondered if that was ground-related.
I hope Desert Lover and Business Traveller came back sound, and well done on the victory with the former.

May 16, 2008 at 08:15 #163822Maybe they’re simply races for those lucky enough to see the horses in question in points, Jeremy. I can only speak as an ‘outsider looking in’.
It certainly does no harm to see them in points, LGR. However, the proliferation and geographical spread of meetings over most pointing weekends means that even Mackenzie and Harris themselves only see 40% of all pointing races in a season between them and are, like the rest of us, indebted to the comments in running submitted for each meeting to a greater or lesser extent.
Big wins for me on the likes of Bon Accord and Kilbreena were influenced by having seen them perform well in points. However, others, on Skew Whip, Southwestern and most recently Amicelli, were borne out of having read about them only.
I’m not privy (one “v” this time!) to any information not otherwise available in the Weekender, Weatherby’s weekly loose-leaf update, etc., though I would probably concede that digesting these constitutes an investment of effort that many people won’t think justify their own ends.
