Seems like Chris’s dream is definitely being aimed at this having ran in 2 ptp’s recently.
That would be enough to convince me if it wasn’t for De Bromheads form this season.
I couldn’t back his horses with someone else’s money now. And I had Jonbon with APT in a Arkle/Gold cup double in November so I’m desperate he does get them right again. But he’s clearly taken his eye off the ball recently and who could blame him.
February 10, 2023 at 12:27 #1634810De Bromhead had quiet spells last season…then bang Honeysuckle, bang A Plus Tard. I’ve backed a couple of his for Cheltenham thus far.
February 10, 2023 at 15:50 #1634834Exactly Mike.
To be honest, his numbers in Ireland are pretty much exactly in line with his 5 yr average.
UK numbers are down but then he’s only had 11 runners- haven’t checked the prices of the runners. A Plus Tard was obviously short + the novice hurdler, forget his name….
So yeah, his actual form this year ain’t so bad……

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 10, 2023 at 19:56 #1634874He,s had a bumper period with 4 or 5 star horses , the problem is i haven’t seen his next star yet
February 10, 2023 at 20:40 #1634881Yeah I was referring to the form of his when he brings them over here as that’s what counts for Cheltenham.
It’s a massive concern to me tbh.

Definitely this
Honeysuckle, Bob, indo and a plus tard account for 9 of his 18 festival winners
Unlikely he will ever have a period that good again
February 10, 2023 at 23:41 #1634907HDB’s runners in the UK this season.
Plan of Attack 12/1 7th
Minella Times 66/1 pu
Arctic Bresil 9/2 pu
Envoi Allen 4/1 pu
A Plus Tard 1/2 pu
Downtown Queen 40/1 pu
Brave Way 11/2 6th
Life in the Park 10/11 3/3 might as well have pu
Centurion Steel 20/1 pu
Champagne Gold 11/2 2ndI mean those are terrible runners. The PU number is crazy high, i wonder if there’s any particular reasoning behind it or just a small sample to work off.
A Plus Tard was off, Arctic Bresil had only won a maiden, Envoi is an enigma, MT/CS/DQ all big prices i guess?
I would doubt it’s got anything to do with Henry’s circumstances, i mean as i’ve pulled up, his season numbers aren’t down really (in Ire)

Hiddenvalley Lake perhaps ;o)
February 11, 2023 at 06:49 #1634935Actually ive backed 3 of his for Cheltenham so far not 2.
February 11, 2023 at 19:57 #1635112HDB won the Listed mares chase today. :o)
February 25, 2023 at 19:33 #1637037“Prior to Wincanton, Famous Clermont had absolutely bolted in by a staggering 30 lengths on the bit at Larkhill and the runner up and third franked the form with creditable efforts at Charing and back at Larkhill on Sunday.”
Decision on Monday, apparently.
I could have taken 20/1 a while back, but opted for 16/1 NRNB instead.

Famous Clermont is entered at Buckfastleigh this coming Sunday – if he runs, I doubt if he’ll come off the bit, but I also doubt if he’ll be much better than 1/3.
Well I see my dark fancy has been added to the Anti Post lists at 16/1..
Very disappointed, I was looking for 40’s or more.Go Go Geronimo..
Thought he ran very well at last years Hunter Chase night.February 26, 2023 at 16:56 #1637112Smashing horse and since losing his seconditis bridesmaid’s image, he’s gone from strength to strength.
IMO, he hasn’t quite got the quality for this race, though.
Ironically the three I like the most – Ferns Lock, Famous Clermont and Fier Jaguen (fast time at Revesby) – either side of the Irish Sea this season, are all doubtful runners.

On the day, I suspect it will be bigger.February 26, 2023 at 19:33 #1637133“Does anyone know if David Kemp is planning to run Law of Gold in this?”
Law Of Gold won the Mixed Open at Garthorpe today, staying on well to beat the progressive Pointer Precious Bounty and Dandy Dan, who won at the Cheltenham Hunters’ Chase meeting last May.
