I’m just bringing attention to a good thread, you strange young man.
May 1, 2011 at 06:27 #353052I haven’t met any, but then not knowing what anyone looks like doesn’t make it easy when I go to a meeting.

Perhaps we need a special forum handshake or some other recognition method !!
May 3, 2011 at 21:34 #353598Mr W – if you spot anything you’re upset by can you contact me (or Matron) rather than intervening yourself, it helps us keep track of things better and ensures consistency. Ta.
Mr P – I communicated with LRM recently and she seems to be pleased at how TRF has progressed.
Good to see some old names on this thread. Katy – what happened to Katy?
Probably like some others, I’m
amazed
by the dates on these posts. Crikey, was it really that long ago. I think it’s almost ten years since I first joined. Lot of water, and posters, under the bridge since then. I was thinking the other day about the chat-room. never have time to spend in there now but we had some good chats and fun in there. And the TRF poker was great fun too.
I’ve met a fair few TRF’ers over the years. I think the first TRF’er I ever met was Dungheap (at Hamilton the night that the Network Racing horse ran there). DL was there, and Jim JTS. Crumbs, whatever happened to Dungheap. If you are still out there Dung let us know how you are!

May 5, 2011 at 22:41 #353983My word I am so old. Was part of the original syndicate and met lots of good people there at warwick, wolverhampton and of course Leicester :O) the day we won! Was also at Towcester all those years ago. Would love to know the story with people from back then especially those from the syndicate who I lost touch with.
May 6, 2011 at 23:33 #354182Wow so many old names on here, harking back to the times when I was a teenager spending unhealthy amounts of times watching racing and discussing it on TRF and getting in fierce debates over how good Hawk Wing was etc. (then I went to uni and got a social life!)
I’d like to know what’s happened to Katy as well corm. Would be good to know what some people are up to and where they’ve gone…
I’ve not posted that regularly since 2006 ish, but I’ve been lurking on/off for the last 5 years. I really miss going racing!
May 13, 2011 at 18:38 #355290I met "The Ledge", have had chats with Sky, and always wanted to meet Pocket Rocket!!
Also wanted to meet Non Vintage. Seemed like a proper bloke!
May 13, 2011 at 18:46 #355293If anyone is at Newton Abbot on monday come and say hi, I’m quite tall and very ginger.
May 14, 2011 at 15:11 #355431I really miss going racing!
What’s stopping you, Mesh? 1,500 meetings per annum and all that. Go out, meet people!
(PS I never did manage to get down to Exeter when you were still there. Rats. London still your current neck of the woods?)

May 16, 2011 at 15:07 #355696I have met one forum member, even though he didn’t know me as "Himself." I like to keep a low profile, you see.

ZozI knew I’d missed one out. Salselon! Wherever did he get to? Must be three years or thereabouts since he regularly patrolled these waters.

Not at a race meeting.
I know you’d like to forget the experience of the West Berkshire Racing Club Quiz Jeremy.
Value Is EverythingJune 3, 2011 at 08:59 #358542I’m most dreadfully embarrassed, Ginger.

…Not so much at forgetting about the Quiz (we came, we saw, we floundered), but at forgetting our meet-up and chat at Goodwood the October before last. Jumps riders’ handicap, Darryl Holland being decked by a barely trained juvenile, and Ted Spread doing me a small favour after a thin old afternoon hitherto. Any of that ring a bell?

June 3, 2011 at 10:21 #358551Ah yes, I remember it well now you say about it Jeremy.
I believe you were working on something to do with each way on course betting. Did anything come of that? Have I missed it?
If ever you are down that way again, we can put the rest of racing to rights.
