Sky has had the pleasure to meet the king of the forums
Gamble ……………..beat that lol
Also he has met
Gimble
Grumble
All at different times and different dates
ranging from Ascot to London to Spain
Also I met an agent of an agency who refused to give his name in Spain , who clearly was in the mist of an enquiry in Santa Pola , you know these small towns , when people are poking their nose in the rubbish, they let Sky know .
I have my thoughts that it was flatcapgamble….Spain has never been dog friendly..woof
I met Gamble at Ascot, when Barracuda rode an amazing race , coming back from 1 furlong down was the day that I flew over to watch Glissing Silver at Brighton but it was snowed or rained off
To experiece the joy of a cheeky face with hog roast dribbeling down lips is a sight that will never leave my heart
Love Him..Miss his words
August 3, 2005 at 09:59 #93349I’ve met Apples, he wasn’t wearing a kilt though. He did say he wore his sporran inside his underpants. Great company at Perth, Hamilton and Ayr.
August 9, 2005 at 22:02 #93350Being a relative newcomer I haven`t met any forumites.Would be fascinating to meet in the flesh the many interesting posters ranging from those who make a living from racing to those who are simply avid followers.
If anyone is around socially or going racing in the South east I`d be interested in meeting
August 10, 2005 at 10:08 #93352I know I have not posted for ages, but I would love to meet up again with some forumites.
The five I have met so far seemed pleasant enough, not a serial killer amongst them. Besides, I am sure some still owe me a gin and tonic.
August 10, 2005 at 22:31 #93354I’ve met quite a few fellow forumites, some briefly and others who i’ve become very good friends with. Some of them were so long ago we don’t see them on here anymore :( ÂÂÂ
Hopefully missing no one off, Zoz, Zome, Daiesy, JJ(*), Cara(*), Boggle(*), Happy Jack, Sal, Tete Rouge, Mully, Leos Luckyman(*), Sharon Long, Dave howard(*), and whoever was at the Towcester meeting that Zoz talks off. Also, Grey Desire and I have been in the same place at the same time, but for whatever reason, always seem to miss each other!

August 14, 2005 at 07:46 #93356Dear Ms Rocket,
I am fairly certain that I don’t owe you a G’n’T, but I’m inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt anyway.
August 14, 2005 at 13:24 #93358Oh God Katy thanks for reminding me, I met Dave once too, at Fakenham. Sorry Dave (if you still peruse the pages).
Wonder where so many of these people have gone to? :(
August 14, 2005 at 13:26 #93359Anyone for another gathering at Towcester in the coming season, and maybe a autumn meet up at Newmarket?
August 14, 2005 at 15:12 #93360All being well will be at Newmarket for the Cambridgeshire.
August 14, 2005 at 16:36 #93361Zoz,

August 14, 2005 at 18:52 #93362Sounds like the beginnings of a plan.
Rory, I hope you’re keeping a pint tally cause I have lost count
August 14, 2005 at 21:38 #93363A good plan indeed – Towcester and Newmarket are great for me and the rest of the clan.
Probably best if I didn’t organise anything, as the proposed meet-up at Huntingdon that was banded around in the chatroom earlier this year didn’t come to anything!
May I suggest a January meet-up at Cottenham as well? A very pleasant day out (bring plenty of layers).
August 16, 2005 at 08:30 #93364Hiya,
Provisionally I’ll say I’d be up for Towcester and Cottenham (diary permitting), and most other places with jumps in them. My next definite trip to the races will be to Cartmel a week on Saturday – drop me a line if you feel like meeting up. I’ll be in the Grandstand area – pity they’ve had to whack the price up to £17 there nowadays, but this was apparently done to ensure the racecourse executive had enough of a "fighting fund" with which to bid for meetings from next year onwards.
As regards the original question of this thread, I have met the following chaps and found them all to be splendid company;
Happy Jack (Thorpe Lodge PTP)
Prufrock (Montgolfier Brothers gig)
Ian Davies (beautiful Basingstoke (…))
APRacing (Perth races)
Alchemist (Chaddesley Corbett PTP)
Always happy to add to that tally in these relatively safe, post-Haywood days….

April 18, 2011 at 01:23 #350864A good thread and a fond reminder of how Jezza always started his posts with a cheery ‘Hiya’ Is LRM still a member? Would be interested in her thoughts on the way that TRF has progressed.
