one, as far as i am aware. being a bit of a daddy-hermit, and not being (and never have been being) employed anywhere within the industry, i guess i am a bit out of the loop.
oh yes, nearly forgot… occasionally i bump into Adrian at local point-to-points!
:)
July 28, 2005 at 23:02 #93314I was lucky enough to meet some people who are no longer on here (to my knowledge) at Towcester in 2001. Off the top of my head Zome and Katy (who I already knew), plus DL and LRM, Trigger, Viking Flagship, Sal briefly, Beaker and some others, all lovely, had a fantastic time.
Have sadly missed out on meeting the P2P guys Adrian and HJ but would love to meet more of you and preferably soon!
July 29, 2005 at 08:12 #93315I haven’t met anyone. Despite liking most of the characters on here, I haven’t managed an RV yet.
Formite, 42, smoker, GSOH, quite fat .. would like to meet similar to shares lies about gambling.
July 29, 2005 at 08:15 #93317Off the top of my head I’ve met 16 forumites but there’s probably a few more I’ve forgotten and will remember when my hangover recedes.
July 29, 2005 at 09:20 #93318Played cricket against Smithy (good batsman – knocked a ball for 6 and took a tile off the changing room roof!) and Happy Jack (funky hat – dangerous bowler) last night.
Non Vintage and Happy Jack (with Sal) are keen on their pointing.
DL and Grey Desire are enthusiastic followers of Celeritas.
Not met ID but I feel he is Voldemort to my Harry Potter.
Am I the only one who fears for Jeremy’s safety?
I get a bit of a Hannibal Lecter frisson when I read that. I’m not sure why, as Mr Davies seemed thoroughly harmless when we met at Towcester. You know, quiet sort of chap, kept himself to himself…..hold on a second, serial killer alert!!
(only kidding, Ian!)
July 29, 2005 at 12:40 #93322I’m looking forward to my date with Ricky Lake. I think he’s got something for me.
July 29, 2005 at 12:55 #93323Haven’t met any, as far as I know. Most of my mates aren’t into racing so I’m fairly sure they’re not members. Might pop over if a gettogether was arranged. I have some great tales of huge gambles which weren’t landed which my wife is sick of listening to so fresh ears are always welcome.
July 29, 2005 at 17:12 #93325Not being quite as popular as Sir Ian Davies, I’ve yet to meet any forumites, which is a shame as there are some amusing characters on here. Hopefully I will get round to meeting some of you lot in the future at some point. (i.e a TRF meet up at Exeter racecourse would be most welcome    ).
July 29, 2005 at 19:04 #93327Meshaheer, I was thinking more Fairyhouse than Exeter.;)
July 29, 2005 at 20:17 #93329Bugger it wait until I get a proper job then I’ll book some holiday and trek to any old track, who fancies a gathering?
July 30, 2005 at 08:23 #93331I had the pleasure of meeting Kotkijet(Simon) at Hereford races some time ago. We shared a juice or two and had a nice afternoon.
Cheers Simon!!

July 30, 2005 at 13:40 #93333too~shay Ian,
frankly, I’m flattered by your description. Sadly I don’t get much chance to brood darkly and I’ve never actually lived in a bedsit per se, but I do have quite a small room, with little decoration. Hopefully all that will change, and I can have a big room with even less decoration. I live in hope.
July 31, 2005 at 09:32 #93335I would think not Ian. It is an abolsute certainty that most posters are solo.
July 31, 2005 at 15:47 #93337Sadly I’ve not had the chance to meet any of my fellow formites.
So following on from this I would like to a propose which formite would you most like to meet……….???
July 31, 2005 at 19:29 #93341Ian,
I would be sad indeed if I longed to be loved by Lord Hartigan and his merry band. Consider my expectoration to have been tongue in cheek, if that’s at all possible with such a pastime.
July 31, 2005 at 19:48 #93343In order of having met them:
thedarkknight
Glenn
David Johnson
Smithy
graysonscolumn
Unfortunately, I got trigger happy and voted for "3" before remembering another 2!
