Faugheen – at 6/4- I think the price is crazy short for a horse who hasn’t run for 2 years- a horse who is 2 years older and I’m not convinced he will even win Sunday’s race let alone a champion hurdle.
Of course he could win the champion hurdle but 6/4 is ridiculous.
    Have already layed this horse.

Yorkhill – 2/1 – too short again yes very talented but as I’ve mentioned in previous posts I believe he is a tad overrated and was The 2nd best horse in the Neptune.
Haven’t been overly convinced by his 2 novice chase runs either. The other thing is everything is running scared of Altior so the JLT is very hot in comparison.
Again could win this but at the price there is no value and I will be laying there’s also the chance he for another race.

I think he would have been more suited going up in trip, the runs over 2m have been good but far from the test he will get in a CH, he is 0/2 at the festival and I think he will get done for speed up the hill.

More time for Mullins to pump him up?
Does look very short, but nothing has form anywhere near him.

Playing devil’s advocate, Annie Power was 0/2 at the Festival until she smashed the field last year.

After her withdrawal this year, I personally wouldnt be writing many horses off, especially if Faugheen doesnt make an impression on Sunday.

Faugheen has been out for 1 year; not 2. He got injured in the same race he is running in on Sunday last year. If he is anywhere near his best then nobody will get near him. You will know a lot more on Sunday. I fancy Petit Mouchoir to get the better of Yanworth so if Faugheen can beat Petit Mouchoir convincingly on Sunday then I think you’re in trouble. If PM wins on Sunday then its a good lay and Faugheen will float out to 4/1. If Faugheen leaves PM for dead then he’ll be odds on, I’d say..

I think Yorkhill is definitely the best horse in the JLT shake up so you have a dangerous bet there. 2/1 is very short like you say so at least if you get burned it won’t be too severe.

    Best of luck with it.

As predicted faugheen isn’t in great shape!
Very happy with these 2 lays as I’m very confident faugheen won’t win and if it pulls out yorkhill may switch to the champion! Even better

Faugheen has a slight muscle injury. Completely different to the injury that has kept him out for the year.

    MELON in the Supreme novice!!

It beat trees in its only run over hurdles and once raced hurdlers don’t win this very often. the last one may have been Flown in 92 I think.

Feel free to try and buck a twenty five year trend!!

Cue card. Too old. Looks barely able to stay 3miles, 3m2 still unproven and dubious. Jockey is not a positive either. Shouldn’t be favourite imo.

Other than Douvan, Limini (mares) and Let’s Dance (mares novice), I think there is a strong case to avoid all other short priced Mullins runners. They never all win and I think Melon and UDS stand out as the two to avoid.

Moon Racer-Made of glass and trained by Pipe
Yorkhill- Too short in a hot race (5pt max lay on the exchanges)
Might Bite- won’t win if he started tomorrow
Cue Card- Want it to win but sometimes in life we don’t always get what we want
Finians Oscar- Up against a freak

I’d only play UDS if we had a lot of rain….by which time price will have fallen…so probably wouldn’t play anyway.

Cue Card – I’d love to see him win but even Colin Tizzard doesn’t think he’ll get 3 miles at Cheltenham plus the extra 2 1/2. From a laying point of view, Thistlecrack would have been a gift from the gods.

When did Tizz say this? Why is he running him then?
