I do agree with this somewhat, irish racing has managed to have the december meetings, the drf & the punchetown festival as a trio of similar importance, but the answer to this does lie in amongst what everyones been saying

Its controlled by the media, mainly the 3 racing stations (itv/rtv/atr) forgetting the racing post (there dead to me since they changed that app lol)

If the presenters on those 3 channels just stopped talking about it so much after each race, a similar outcome as what happens in ireland would occur, yes the presenters mention it, but only as an afterthought, for example, the last few weeks most of the chat after the maiden wins was, “theyll turn up in the royal bond” not “there 14/1 for the supreme”

They really do control the narrative, cheltenham doesnt need the attention, its selling out no matter what, try and improve the attention these other races get..

I do love antepost betting fir cheltenham, but that also, has been ruined in the last decade, by this media obsession

Lol We,ve had a Cheltenham 2023 forum since the late summer , Cheltenham is Cheltenham , it’s like the Olympics , who cares about the indoor or commonwealth championships… not many , we are all studying and watching looking for Cheltenham pointers , yes it may hurt some races ( esp the KG ) but it’s where every one wants to win , case in point One Man , loved grey and the day he won the Champion chase after so many misses …

Ah, the Olympics….that event where you have to qualify in most events, by taking part in competition regularly; you can’t just rock up and race.

Plenty of names have missed qualifying events and not made it; if you’re injured – Tough.

    Food for thought…..

You can’t rock up and race in the graded races at Cheltenham … Unlike say the derby

    “we are all”

    Err, sorry? Excuse me?

    “All?”

No man – or lady – speaks for Chezza.

I pay Cheltenham 2023 the occasional visit, but I keep it in perspective and many don’t visit it at all.

Speak for yourself – and only yourself – sir!

Fair play to Ed Chamberlin for saying that.

Two big races in their own right at Sandown Park today – Arkle and Champion Chase implications are but an afterthought.

Todays racing showed it most definitely is not all about Cheltenham.
