Interesting story in today’s Post about the clash of colours.
Anyone agree with Qatar lackey David Redvers in his view that the colours are ‘distinctly different’?
Must admit I am firmly in the traditionist camp in thinking these are one of the great sets of old colours that should never have been ‘copied’.
October 10, 2012 at 06:15 #416024The late Dick Hollingsworth’s famous silks of Crimson, Silver Braid have been taken over by his nephew Mark Dixon. The Qatar Racing silks are Claret, Gold Braid. Obviously Crimson being a bright red and claret being a burgundy, maroon colour seems like two different sets of silks to me. Don’t see many braid patterns in British racing these days. The Queen’s silks obviously being the most famous. My opinion. Storm in a teacup.

October 11, 2012 at 20:52 #416241I read today that the Qatar "lacky" spent 2.5 million at the sales for his "boss" on a Galileo colt, seeing off Coolmore at the end. Some "lacky" indeed.
