God if that race doesn’t encapsulate the highs and brutal lows of the sport………..everything crossed and hoping for the best but that had Many Clouds vibes about it

RIP – condolences to all connections especially the grooms.

Abuffalosoldier left us all a memory to saver with an incredible front running, jumping for fun winning performance……..thank you!

Good that ITV got an interview with the on course vet who explained (as far as he could) about the incident.

I backed Abuffalosoldier. Didn’t watch the racing live yesterday and am glad I didn’t. Saw the replays on the Timeform website not knowing what happened and they stopped the recording pretty much as Abuffalosoldier passed the line so I didn’t know. Bangers And Cash’s fate had already put a massive dampener on the result together with Napper Tandy – and then I saw BBC News.

What a genuine bold leaper Abuffalosoldier was. A wonderful chaser. Feel so sorry for connections of all the horses who lost their lives yesterday. Sean Bowen rode a brilliant race, asking Abuffalosoldier up on a long stride and letting him jump normally when not. In recent times Warren Greatrex hasn’t had many good horses and this would’ve been an ideal Grand National horse.

    RIP
