OUTLAW TOM goes for ‘Hexham Four Miler’ tomorrow at 3.35, the highlight of Cheltenham week for a few sad souls. There’s a small field and negatives are more prevalent than positives. Our gelding has course, distance and going to suit, the only question being whether or not he is ‘up for it’. His last effort at Ayr hinted that his enthusiasm is returning.
Meanwhile The Village has novice hurdle entries at Newcastle on Saturday and Carlisle on Sunday.

Peter Buchanan had to keep at him from well out, but he kept plugging on for third place. Not pretty but earned a bit of keep and it’s likely he’ll be dropped a few pounds once again. He outstayed More Equity and had a couple of others comfortably held which is better than earlier in the season.

RN: "Tom came third!"
MrsN: "How many runners were there? Three?"
Hmmmph!Later on the card Filbert Fox, part owned by Paul Brierley (aka milnathort) ran a cracker when just pipped in the 3m 1f
handicap chase. A really game effort!Rob
