Fist, if you think I ask questions on here in order to get answers from you, you are sadly mistaken. I value your opinion about the same as my small spaniel dog. You are an opinionated, boorish know-nothing and navigating these otherwise interesting threads is becoming increasingly diificult as one has to pick one’s way over your dire spoor to get to the input of people worth reading. You have mentioned at least 6 horses for this race already who wouldn’t win with roller skates and rubbished the only one I mentioned as you don’t like the messenger. Give over with the personal abuse and do a bit more listening and a bit less spouting for once.
November 27, 2008 at 22:31 #192620No commenton your post other than look back and see who started the personal abuse….look in the mirror mate you’ll see him stading right in front of you……..Comedian!!!
November 27, 2008 at 22:49 #192626I have a suggestion. Why don’t you ignore my posts and I’ll ignore yours, that way we can live in peace.

November 27, 2008 at 23:13 #192634Aaaanyways, back to the Hennessey…
I fancy those sexy hocks of AIr Force One.
Many will say that he is not well-weighted and he is better going the other way. Some may even sugest he will not stay

I think he’ll love the extra furlongs and will gallop on that bit quicker than the enemy. His form with Roll Along will look even better in time.
13/2 with Corals tonight, worth taking imho – if you want to back the beast.
Island Flyer for the reverse forecast – he’s a deffo improver as we all know and jumps and stays brill.

November 28, 2008 at 01:03 #192665There is, of course, that possibility. His seasonal debut was encouraging though, if his trainers statement he would badly need the run is taken at face value.
The yard has been flying. But I never have quite fully understood the trainer.
November 28, 2008 at 02:58 #192708I agree with one poster, Big Buck’s might be a talking horse.
But surely the biggest talking horse in the race is Air Force One. Mann has been talking him up forever but he has been routinely exposed in the top class races.
How he’s half the price of Alberta’s Run, who gave him weight and a sizeable beating on two runs last season, I’ll never know.
My worry about Alberta’s is the ground. Doesn’t want any rain, it seems, and they’re forecast some at Newbury.
I would give Slim Pickings a serious chance. We know he’s competitive off this mark (placed in the National in April, when he looked like he didn’t really get home). Might be a doubt over him staying the 3m 2f here too but ground should suit, very smooth jumper and can see him running very well at a decent price.
Reverse Forecast: Alberta’s Run & Slim Pickings.

Well said sir, thats all that can beat Albertas!
November 28, 2008 at 04:58 #192741Character Building or Slim Pickings for me with preference for the former. I was at Towcester when CB won first time out and he showed there he was in good order albeit connections saying he would come on for the run. A nice low weight I can’t see him out of the places. Slim Pickings seems to travel well through his races and had a decent prep run in a grade 2 over an inadequate trip recently. Hasn’t won since 2006 which is a tad off putting, which just swings it in favour of CB. A decent forecast all the same

Fook that for a game of soldiers I enjoy your posts
November 28, 2008 at 14:45 #192783Still liking Air force One and also like him ew for the Gold Cup though accept he has to prove it left handed. And think the nibbles for Albertas Run means he has to be in the shake up and will do the pair in a reverse forecast if there is no overnight rain.

My only worry too.
Anyone in the vicinity of Newbury or that part of England who can tell us if there’s been much rain?
November 28, 2008 at 16:40 #192818Good luck Firefox, et al. Let’s hope AFO is the each-way steal we think he is…

November 28, 2008 at 17:17 #192827Although I have a nice bet running for me with Verasi, I just don’t think he’ll get it soft enough tomorrow, so have also backed Dear Villez. I think ground and trip will suit him, he jumps well, he had a nice prep in the Munster National and I think he is over-priced at around 18/1 on BF.
I certainly don’t see him as a stable second-string in this race.
November 28, 2008 at 18:23 #192838At the moment nothing jumps out as this looks a sub standard Hennessy.
November 28, 2008 at 22:03 #192927Well, I’ve read all the postings, looked through the race and still have:
Island Flyer
Dear Villez
Always Waining.
I think the last named is well overpriced here, I suppose the going has to be taken into account with him as he wouldn’t want any more rain.
Dear Villez, has never won on anything faster than soft which is a concern but hopefully the GS forecast may suit. Any further rain would help him.
Island Flyer, seems to have his ground, loves the track and is improving with each race. He would seem to have an excellent chance here.
Mike.November 28, 2008 at 22:20 #192934I still think backing Jonjo’s is dodgy despite the fact they fancy him. If Air Force One put’s in a clear round I think he could be the one to give CB the most to do. Illogical but I think Knowhere might run a big race despite his huge weight
