another poor horse has payed with his life for man’s enjoyment,
r.i.p hear the echo
April 4, 2009 at 20:15 #220307Hear The Echo was only 8 years old and won last year’s Irish National. He ran a brave race today. So very sorry he did not come home. RIP.
April 5, 2009 at 02:07 #220397Terrible news, this horse landed a few nice bets for me over the past 3 years or so and he owed connections nothing.
Feel desperately sorry for Mouse. He’s had such miserable luck with his horses in recent times with both War Of Attrition and Venalmar picking up injuries and now Hear The Echo’s sad demise.
April 7, 2009 at 00:28 #220681A horse I followed in his novice chase season – really sorry to hear of his demise.First saw him on ATR putting up a classy looking effort in a novice chase at Clonmel where Back In Front fell as a hot favourite. He was very in and out after that but pleased he showed himself so useful on occasion.
His inconsistency and a couple of extraordinary efforts when he finished with a rare rattle after dropping out of contention make me wonder if he had an undetected problem. His bold effort on Saturday won`t be much solace to connections but my condolences to them .
