With 2 of the 8 runners failing to load could i suggest a new tactic, waving a bunch of carrots with their tops on in front of the horse as the handler backs in to the stall.
September 26, 2009 at 20:53 #250231Can I suggest an even better tactic: cancell all Flat racing at Haydock and re-instate the big fences.

I’d second that Grasshopper

One trick pony.
September 27, 2009 at 01:06 #250286Good plan Grassy!
In all seriousness, I was shocked to see how the jumps track has been annilihated when at Haydock recently. It’s surely a tighter track than Musselburgh now!
September 27, 2009 at 03:24 #250323I think what we are trying to do at Haydock now is have something that resembles the Monaco hairpin.
Will be interesting to see how the new jumps track rides this coming season, Am going to the first meeting in October and will be watching very closely, especially on the top bend which is very tight and undulating as it now goes slightly downhill when they make the turn.
