I have no interest in this ridiculous soap opera on either side. It is obscene that so much coverage is given to it with everything we have going on and I’d rather the media talk about the things that actually matter.

I will say however that the way the media treats them is vile and he and Meghan are entitled to air their side of the story.

I find the level hatred and vitriol directed at them frankly bizarre, 99.9% of it comes from people who’ve never even met them. Where do they therefore get such hatred from? There can only be one place.

I don’t buy newspapers but I go on BBC News or SKY News online to see the front pages each day.

On the front page of The Daily Mail today – during a War in Ukraine, a global cost of living crisis and everything else that’s going on in our country and the world – this: “Text by text, Meghan and Kate’s bridesmaid dress row.”

The saddest people in the world are those who obsess about the Royal Family.

The second-saddest are those who obsess about those feuding with the Royal Family.

    I detest the Royal Family.

    Obscenely privileged.

But I also detest Harry and Meghan.

There are millions of people with far more difficult lives who lose their mum in childhood.

And there are millions of people with far more difficult lives who suffer racial prejudice.

    Those millions of people matter.

The Royal Family, Harry and Meghan – None of them matters.

No, I won’t be buying his book.

He doesn’t need my money – whereas I do need my money and he’s getting none of it.

Quite right Ian, unimaginable privilege on both sides, why the hell should I feel sympathy for any of them?

Don’t understand the servility towards the royals, but Harry seems a nice enough lad, despite the well-briefed PR campaigns against him and Meghan. Meghann seems pretty bright, obs too bright for a role than doesn’t require much intelligence.

If Diana had just knuckled down to the role of Princess of Wales which she did extremely well none of this
would have happened and she would now be Queen. She already knew that Charles and Camilla were having an affair
but nothing could have come of it if she had remained stable and carried out her royal duties without the need
to stray. Nobody used the Press like Diana she would tip them off about everything she was doing or about to
    do.

The Queen turned many a blind eye to the philandering of Prince Phillip and remained a much respected and loved Monarch to her death.

If only Princess Diana had come home that night to her boys instead of going to Paris with Dodi they were on their last night at Balmoral before returning to school but her head was
full of getting revenge on the Royal Family.

Harry take note. Keep your head down fight your own battles with
your brother, god knows so many families go through sibling rivalry much worse than this.
I don’t particularly like Meghan, nothing to do with race I just think she came into the marriage expecting
to be a pampered princess and found out that she had signed up to be part of ‘The Firm’.

    “If only Princess Diana….”

If only I’d never heard of any of them, Jac.

Phil Bull once called racing “the great triviality.”

I can think of a bigger one.

Trivial or not Ian I shall miss betting on the colour of the Queens hat at Royal Ascot and miss her enthusiasm for the sport.
    It won’t be the same…
The Royals are lost at sea without her. :rose: Jac

I’ve sat around many fires with several people that have worked and known the royals personally; aka [ EDIT – THE TOWER BECKONS ]
So I have a certain accidental form with the insides of the hierarchical money spinning institution which people wave flags at. God they are an intermingling bunch – even the aloof Edward has an interesting side ; to the left, to the left- I could yarn about it all night, but when I come across cash register Harry – I just wonder 🤔 before I fall cold asleep where the route of his problem lies and really – dear Harry my boy, your ol’ grandaddy was hardly the best role model for Daddy and Daddy’s unhappy son.

    – other edit…
Nothing wrong with an inspiring day on the circuits :good:

Many people don’t have role model parents but still make a decent fist of life , dear Harry isn’t use to hearing ” no ” and can’t take it when he hears it , the ” what Meagan wants she gets ” remark is a prime example

Yes Ground, but live under the public all seeing ever scrutinizing eye 👁️ and it might just give you the heebie-jeebies and make you dive for cover in a cabbage patch, behind a pub, to have yer *rse whipped by an old radish tart that thinks you’re a horse and tells you the pub chucking out times backwards and names all the losers that have ended up covered in cabbage leaves that all got shafted before you, and then to live in the sound of shocked silence, that you get after having a veggie snack with an awful vivre le difference and living never to tell the tale of the radish raper for afters, presented as an after horse d’oeuvres curse – except in the rare case of the consoling balm of mega bucks easing the redness of the witch’s whip’s wheals, and enabling the buying of witness deep throat bunnies, who saw the evil act, which now rates as your inflation busting pension. :yahoo:

Despite the press coverage or because of it? 🤔 Say what you like about him but he’s done well there.

I detest the blameless hypocrite and hope he never comes back.

Meghan’s probably already making plans to divorce him once the US gets fed up with the privileged whinging victim.

    Loves his family?
He said the other night that the RF weren’t racists and it was the British press who labelled them that, when he said it was ‘unconscious bias’, and what the bloody hell is that.
So he really protected them then and didn’t put the press right and has left it two years to say this bit while the RF have been on tenterhooks.

That dismissal of the Queen’s lady in waiting was disgusting, but as a result of Charles and William having to be seen to do something and distance themselves.

That really was an error on their part how they behaved, guilty before innocent, but were shitting themselves something seen as racial may have landed.
I hope they have learned from their too swift an action too!

Back to the ginger twat, he now is apparently below Andrew would you believe in ‘popularity’ ratings.

Anyone defending him, liking him, you may want to review your values too!

Although I suspect people that like him are into minority groups as well.

First let me say I’m no lover of the royals whether they live here or US.
This to me seems the most hair brained piece of fiction since Blair published his own.
However I did last week see a review of the book that perhaps explains the title better than anything else I’ve seen.In modern jargon ‘to go spare’ is defined as ‘to become very angry’ with the reviewer saying could be put as
‘Whenever Harry spoke of his family,he went spare’
    food for thought?
    good luck to all
