    Do you agree or disagree?

Loved the horse but I am in the disagree camp.my choice would have been Battaash

I do agree. HA won 2 and was placed 2nd in Group 1s. Bataash won one Group 1. I would have Bataash in a consolation prize as Most Improved Sprinter.

I personally would have Harry as sprinter of the year all day long but by no means is that saying Bataash isn’t an world class speedball.

Harry hacked up in the July Cup (Europe’s premier Sprint race) before another demolition job on terrible ground in the Sprint Cup. Unless I’m mistaken he’s also the highest rated sprinter in Europe this year with a mark of 125.

Battaash, impressive as he may have been at Goodwood and Chantilly, does only have that one top-level victory to his name and probably would have needed to have won the Nunthorpe to get this accolade.

yep the ratings have it 125/123 in favour of harry(on BHA site) while Timeform have it 136/132 in favour of Battaash.

Was a good year for the sprinters(Marsha 130 with timeform)

Four horses this season have produced performances normally more than good enough to be “Sprinter Of The Year”. Exceptional performances by Harry Angel, Battaash, Lady Aurelia and Marsha. Hard to choose tbh, but:

It’s always going to be based on the number written above the races in question rather than performance. How many “group 1” winners a horse has matters to the powers that be. Doesn’t matter to them that the performance put up by Battaash in the “Group 2” King George was better than the vast majority of Group 1’s.
