Plenty to like about MIDDLE EARTH for this. Ascot form, wants this ground, latest victory over this trip has been franked, tick, tick, tick hopefully a BOOM!!
I’m content with the price of 5/2 but not exactly drooling over it.June 21, 2024 at 00:11 #1699025I see Gosden was unable to get Emily Upjohn fit.. yawn
Blackbeard to conquer the World
June 21, 2024 at 04:20 #1699038Middle Earth off to OZ in few months , be interested see how he goes , dread to think how much Maher paid for him having seen the price lesser Euro imports are at on his website .
June 21, 2024 at 20:44 #1699315Changed my mind on this, cashed out 75% of MIDDLE EARTH and kept him in as a small bet but I like ISLE OF JURA who won at Goodwood over 10f last day but arguably better over 12f. Won a listed race in Bahrain previous over 12 and had King Of Conquest a length or so behind, the recent listed winner who was a nose behind Middle Earth at Newbury.
12/1June 22, 2024 at 00:36 #1699369I couldn’t see the point in Emily Upjohn running here in a Group 2, when there’s a potentially easier Group 1 for mares coming up in Ireland… But it is possible both Emily and Inspiral have had enough of racing.
Value Is EverythingJune 22, 2024 at 09:43 #1699404Middle Earth here I can only see him improving.
The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.
June 22, 2024 at 10:11 #1699418The King’s Desert Hero is weak in the market for dubious reasons. Officially he has never run on “Good-Firm”. However, last year the ground on the round course was described as “Good, good-firm in places”… Which was changed to Good-Firm all over AFTER (on the evidence of) the second race – King George V Stakes – because the winner put up a time that beat Racing Post Standard. That winner being…
Desert Hero.
Value Is EverythingJune 22, 2024 at 10:54 #1699433Elegant man will probably not be as effective on turf / Good-Firm. imo It’s about 70/30 against him acting on the surface today. However, that 30% had me taking the 29/1+ last night.
Value Is EverythingJune 22, 2024 at 11:18 #1699442I do think “on form” Continuous is value. But although he ran ok in the King Ed last year, it wasn’t until August he showed his true colours… And with AOB’s strike rate first time out this season I can’t have him as a main bet.
Similarly, Middle Earth could be described as “value”. Not as good form as Continuous, but – in contrast to many of these – has a very progressive profile. If continuing to improve has a great chance here. But always held up, will need them to go a good pace. Candleford the only probable pace horse, Crypto Force might push him, but not certain. So Middle Earth’s chance is probably reliant on others. That said, Continuous will need to go for home some way out if the early pace is not a good one, to bring his stamina into play..
Value Is EverythingJune 22, 2024 at 12:34 #1699475Candleford win at 20s & w/o favs at 15/2 for me.
Edit: Small stake on Crypto Force at 110s and 25s w/o favs also.
June 22, 2024 at 12:45 #1699486Isle Of Jura ew 4 places
June 22, 2024 at 12:58 #1699495Isle Of Jura 12s win only
June 22, 2024 at 13:35 #1699513I’ve left this race out…
Middle Earth’s best form is on Good & Good/Firm. The form of Continuous is better on softer going. With the lack of a run from the latter and Middle Earth with race fitness, I’m expecting these two to fight out the finish.
Middle Earth to get his neck in front.
June 22, 2024 at 13:50 #1699520Isle of Jura for me at 16-1
