July 11, 2008 at 14:11 #172838Two Mars Bars, back to bed, rise post-meridian, no problem, anyone fancy a pint?
July 11, 2008 at 14:47 #172844The mars bar bit sounds fine (tried boost, double decker and mint aero so far) but unfortunately am delivering demos to a bunch of fund managers so the back to bed bit aint gonna happen.
and just found out that trains from London to B’ham are shagged. This is not a good day.
July 11, 2008 at 15:29 #172849I had a mint aero at lunchtime, but with no hangover to cure.
I was ars*e-holed on Wednesday night, but used toasted Plain bread with butter and jam, washed down with about 2L of green-top milk, to chase away the demons on Thursday morning.
July 11, 2008 at 16:00 #172851The lunch time top up failed to work although I did try out a new idea:
2 Terrys chocolate oranges (how expensive ???), 2 bountys (not a big fan) and some dodgy strawberry nutrition bar.
The concept was to get my five daily fruit requirements, thus topping up the vitamin C level but to be honest I felt sick half way through the second orange.
If anybody wants a couple of bountys PM me
July 11, 2008 at 20:41 #172878Roll & Sausage with plenty of HP sauce and a mug of tea to wash down two paracetamol does it for me every time

July 11, 2008 at 21:37 #172887In my drinking days I used to have a full english breakfast as a pick me up in the morning – it worked wonders.
July 12, 2008 at 11:00 #172942chocolate? well i guess different things work for different people!
if i’m going to work – water water an more water, maybe a packet of cheese an onion!
if i’m racing – tea, cigarettes, more tea, tea, tea, any then about 4 pieces of buttered toast!hang on a min, i never get a headachey hangover (never have done), but i feel a bit queasy an still pissed, red bull works wonders, but note to myself – no more than 1 can!!!!!

daiesyJuly 12, 2008 at 12:04 #172952Lard. ‘Nuff said.
July 12, 2008 at 12:14 #172953I’d already had a sausage and bacon sandwich but it hadn’t worked
July 12, 2008 at 15:10 #172971I can’t remember what I’d use as a hangover remedy the morning after – I enjoy the occasional pint of mild, porter or stout, but I’ve not had a hangover since an ill-advised Cointreau-drinking contest on holiday in Germany almost 14 years to the day. That kind of put me off…

July 12, 2008 at 19:41 #172990i found hangover cures to be many, varied and effective when young and fresh but as the years go by less and less work to the extent that in the end nothing now works except sleeping it off
July 12, 2008 at 21:04 #172997…indeed
As someone accurately observed, you know you’ve entered middle-age when you can still take the drink but can’t take the hangover
Pretty well tea-total by choice nowadays though I do still enjoy the occasional (very) slow soak as a much-needed antidote to the ritual intake of Darjeeling and Ribena
One pint is never enough
July 12, 2008 at 21:40 #173001If you can…BIG if. Two nurofen or even three. Two pints of COLD water. Lie down for an hour or more if you can. For a really big, I’m still drunk hangover, DO NOT drink any more booze or drink coffee or Redbull, just water…. Works for me. It’s horses for courses for hangovers I think
