I recently lost both my in-laws, so I thought i’d pop in and see if we can chat about what we love and maybe take my mind off of it
Especially with Royal Ascot approaching, maybe we can bag a few winners between us

Very sad to lose in laws but they always take something with them and hopefully leave you with a lasting impression.
Of mine, one was a merchant seaman, the other a navel rating both had very hard times during WW2. I never met the navy fella but Malta I’m told was quite a tough time. his daughter was born while he was out there. he had huge birth pains as she was born and gave her a Maltese name. Of the other he was sunk more times than he sailed. He always argued against oil pollution and said the sea could take all the fuel of two world wars and recover. “It’s the people it can’t take”. He was Alf Garnett with a heart!
The thing about old wise people you could not win any arguments with him. As for the mother in law married to two old soaks, when she lost the second husband she didn’t stay for long.
Love is certainly very different in the modern world. She was lovely.

Yes I’m sure we can find a few winners, over the next few days hopefully.
I’m sure you know what I love, sport and horses.

What Chezza loves – Hadrian’s Wall (if only it was still fully operational and worked online!), Hob Nobs; being mean in small, spiteful, ways; endlessly scheming and plotting the downfall of Hughesey; ante-post bets on Dick Dastardly to one day win Wacky Races; and….Chezza.

Hughesey bet on DD to win wacky races is actually not a bad one. He had to get ahead of the field to set up those traps. If he’d carried on victory would have been assured. It’s the fact that he doubled it up with DD catching Yankee Doodle Pigeon that would have brought the big bucks. :good:

Getting there, slowly. She still cries about it. Her dad died Apr 4 then her mum had a heart attack on May 11. I guess the loneliness was too much, much the same happened to Johnny Cash when he lost June Carter. The loss of a long-term partner can be incalculable

Hi Racing Daily, my condolences to your family losing a parent is hard, to lose 2 in such a short frame of time is devastating. She must concentrate on her happier times with them. Her pain will never go away, nor should it, but in time it will ease.

Hope the racing and Chezza’s attempts to win Mr popularity keeps you amused.

I’ve heard this song is about Warren Beatty, when it’s really about Chezza

Tbf, Chezza always assumed this track (an all-time Chezza favourite) was about Chezza, too.

Chezza always knew those dancing lessons Chezza once won off John Travolta in a bet would come in handy one day.
