Gypsy King I / Gypsy King

Notice Coolmore have a 3yo called Gypsy King, and the ill-fated Gypsy King (a Coolmore inmate) of Motivators Derby has been ‘re-named'(?) Gypsy King ‘I’.

Is this only allowed because the original GK is dead? Are ‘The Lads’ running out of name ideas?

Well it’s not actually had a name change, it’s still called Gypsy King, the 1 has been added for information purposes. The name can be used again after so many years.
Hamdan did something similar recently, can’t think of the horse’s name.

Think Sue Magnier used to do the naming, maybe she’s running out of names like you say.
