The thorny subject of where and how threads outlining selections/tips should be posted continues to create problems. Can I ask, in order to resolve this niggling issue, that the following guidelines are adhered to :-
1. A topic will be opened daily in the ‘Daily Lays and Plays’ section for the purpose of allowing all selections for that day to be gathered in the one place. This means that those looking for tips know where to find them and that section is kept ‘clean’, avoiding every single member posting there starting up his own thread.
If you are simply posting a tip (i.e. ‘Shergar in the 2.30 at Cartmel’), or a list of tips for that day then that is the place to do it.
2. I appreciate however that sometimes people want to go into more detail on certain races (EC’s threads being a good example). I personally find these threads of interest and I think there are plenty others who do. Therefore a separate topic can be opened up in the ‘Lays and Plays’ section for specific races where the poster is offering a more in-depth analysis or debate.
3. Where someone has a view on the more interesting, big races for which there might be a wider interest on the forum (i.e. NOT the 8.30 from Lingfield, etc) then I think the correct place for that is in the Horse Racing section. This would include all the big races, flat and jumps. These threads usually develop into long term discussions and debate and the Horse Racing section is therefore appropriate.
Jim JTS moderates the Lays and Plays section and does a great job and will monitor these new guidelines, which will hopefully satisy all concerned.
Surely all is now clear?
I don’t want to get bogged down in petty guidleines but this problem continues to rankle and needs sorting.
Anybody who has a problem with the above please PM me.
