This is a race where I normally have an early one, but still whittling it down
Docpickedme was a rather fortunate winner last year, but in form, and interesting for the repeat
Probably wise to hold off though with The Peter Marsh on the horizon, and that’s really important with my main hope right now, Grand Geste. Well impressed with him last time, and surely more to come
I’ll keep betting Digby, but he’s let me down a couple of times, while Aworkinprogress, Imperial Saint, & Torn and Frayed also appeal
No bet right now, but like Grand Geste a lot
Final Decs
Grand Geste too short. Walking On Air the selection just over Docpickedme, and started chipping away, hoping to beat 15-2
Walking On Air 10’s
January 23, 2026 at 18:08 #1751354Taken Kelce 15s ew. No weight and it looks like it’ll be a bit of a slog.
January 23, 2026 at 18:54 #1751363Sarge, I often agree with you and have also backed Kelce at 12/1 WIN.
But I also went for King’s Threshold at 16/1 WIN only. The form of his Newbury win reads very well with the 3rd placed horse winning at Wincanton by 21 lengths next time out. Emma Lavelle’s stable is just a hot as Neil Mulholland’s both boasting a very healthy strike rate over the past 14 days.January 24, 2026 at 00:17 #1751423Docpickedme put up such a game performance here last time he’s my choice, though he had a hard race.
January 24, 2026 at 00:44 #1751425With King’s Threshold a NR, I went for Walking On Air at 8/1 WIN only.
January 24, 2026 at 02:17 #1751428I thought Josh The Boss put up a good show last month at Aintree leading on the
run in only to be caught in the shadow of the post by Prairie Wolf. He’s never
been by 2m 5f but I get the impression that 3m could be his trip. It’s soft
at the moment but with no rain forecast and a stiff breeze it could turn out
G/S which would be ok. The young apprentice, Jamie Neild, knows the horse well
and his 7lb claim could make the difference.Josh The Bosh 15 and 15 1/2 Betfair exchange (generally 11/1 elsewhere)
January 24, 2026 at 09:05 #1751479Can’t see him defying top weight but Deep Cave I always follow, 9-2.
The more I know the less I understand.
January 24, 2026 at 09:47 #1751501Grand Geste for me.
January 24, 2026 at 12:42 #1751540With Kelce a non-runner gone for Deep Cave 5s
