I wasn’t going to have a bet in this, but in the chance that he is in the right mood, I thought that Grand Alliance was worth a bet at 40-1 ew.

I was surprised that Secret State is available at 5-2 this morning, and I think that he’ll win, but I’ve decided to go with the bigger prices runner for a bit of added interest

Aikhal was impressive last time out.
Ryan Moore was very pleased getting off him and felt maybe with an uninterrupted preparation that he’d have been Ballydoyle’s derby horse after all.
May well show up well again here stepping up in trip and this one to me looks to have the most scope for this race. State secret will give him most to do.

Secret state has won for me at Royal ascot and glorious goodwood

Not going to desert him now especially at 5/2, when he was 7/4 I was willing to let him run

He’s exceptionally well bred, by dubawi out of Jacqueline’s quest, and has improved with each run

He already beat deauville legend giving him 4lb and I’m really not sure what to make of Aikhal in a race that Obrein traditionally doesn’t send his top notchers too.

I am a little dissapointed the only horse to beat him Francesco Clemente hasn’t been entered to run by the gosdens though

If I had to pick one it would be the AOB horse, but anything could happen.

Aikhal was Tom Segal pricewise Leger pick. I wonder if he’ll go in again ;o)

Secret State took a bit of a hold early at Goodwood too, FF. So they probably thought if he was to stay the St Leger trip next time then they’d need to change tactics.. Therefore it made sense to change in the Voltigeur and see.
